Engage travelers with an immersive, guided experience through stays at multiple Hilton hotel brands in a series of captivating and enticing first-person POV-style :60-:90 vertical videos for Instagram and TikTok.

At Hilton, The Stay is everything. It sets the tone for your whole trip and can make or break your entire travel experience. Luckily, Hilton is built to provide the ultimate Stay experience, from well-appointed hotel rooms and communal areas to unique amenities and stand-out Hilton hospitality.

To showcase all that Hilton has to offer, we are looking to greenlight up to four Tongal creators to capture "Stay Tours" – first-person POV/follow-me style vertical videos – that show the actual "Stay experience" at two different properties each in San Diego, Las Vegas, New York, and Chicago (options listed out in the Background). If greenlit, you'll create immersive, guided vertical videos that illuminate an actual traveler experience through all the hallmarks of the Stay. From showing universal moments like entering the lobby, to revealing amenities unique to each specific property, your :60-:90 videos should have the authentic persona of a well-seasoned and personable traveler, making the Stay Tour feel relatable and enticing for viewers.

Ultimately, all of the content created for Stay Tours needs to feel like it's part of the same campaign, so be sure to check out the reference videos in the Background section. That said, within that framework, each video needs to be crafted specifically to a) each property's unique highlights and/or amenities, and b) the appropriate 'traveler' for that stay. So if your 'traveler' is a family at an all-inclusive resort, then your video should be lighthearted and fun, and should highlight activities for kids as well as for parents; if your traveler is on a solo wellness retreat, then the video should be tranquil and peaceful, and feature amenities like a plunge pool or spa experience. You can reuse the same talent across multiple videos, but we do want to see diversity on screen, and the talent. Think about how you can achieve this through that first-person / follow-me POV and visual style. It's not mandatory, but we'd love to see casting options in your pitch.

Hilton will provide a room at each property for one day/night for filming, and each property's available dates for filming (one day per property) will be arranged with the greenlit filmmakers.

Finally, each video should be accompanied by a "Q+A" style document (PDF) that goes into more detail about each amenity at the property; the Hilton team will work with you to develop this in pre-production.

For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

DELIVERABLES: Each filmmaker will create two property-specific videos and two property-specific 'Q&A'-style documents:

  • Two property-specific :60-:90 videos (9x16)
  • Two property-specific 'Q&A'-style documents that describe the Stay in more detail.

TIMELINE: HERE.

EXPOSURE: We anticipate content will be used on the platforms listed below, but if casting talent, please be sure your talent reviews the required Talent Release, as it is not limited to these platforms. You should also review our Music providers in the Project Requirements, as well as the platform best practices page.

  • Hilton's various official Instagram accounts and TikTok.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Broadly, the global Instagram and TikTok audiences: Millennials, especially younger millennials, and Gen Z.

TONE: Authentic, clever, energetic, humorous, creative, timely.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Your pitch MUST make clear which city you are pitching on. We encourage you to pitch on multiple cities if you can work as a local from more than one location; no additional travel budget will be provided, so keep that in mind.
  • Include a strong engaging visual and/or hook in the first three seconds.
  • Videos must show Hilton branding in the first three to five seconds, including the hotel facade and/or brand logos.
  • Tone and voice should follow Hilton’s platform guidelines (a well-traveled friend), unless specifically indicated otherwise by a brand, while keeping true to the Influencer’s personality.
  • Videos must show the Hilton hotel room and other property highlights and amenities while elaborating on why it's unique to their type of Stay; for example:
    • Family at an All-Inclusive resort: lighthearted and fun, and shows a mix of adult, family, and kid-specific activities
    • Solo wellness retreat: tranquil and peaceful, with amenities built for relaxation and restoration
    • Where possible, highlight the 'little extras' that make The Stay even better, e.g. special in-room welcomes, team members going above and beyond for your Stay, etc.
  • While you can repeat talent across videos, diversity is key to Hilton, and we'll want that to show up on screen through the first-person / follow-me POV. Talent should also be in sync with the type of property and available amenities, as noted above.
  • The Hilton properties will provide a room for your shoot, but it is not necessary to spend the night at any of the properties; filming should require only one day or less per property.
  • You must visually emphasize the beauty of Hilton properties, from the hotel rooms to the communal areas (e.g. lobbies, restaurants, bars, outdoor spaces, etc.).
  • Greenlit filmmakers will be provided with brand Dos and Don'ts that will need to be followed during pre-production, production, and post.
  • Do not include any shots of alcohol, alcoholic drinks, or drinks that could be perceived as alcoholic.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • SCRIPT (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • STORYBOARDS (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across. You can download the Tongal storyboard template here.

  • HEADSHOTS/CASTING BOARDS (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from the Sponsor.

  • TREATMENT: This project requires treatment approval. The treatment should describe how you plan to execute the video and how you plan to bring the storytelling to life visually. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your treatment and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until a treatment is approved by the Sponsor.
  • CASTING: This project requires casting approval. Tongal advocates for inclusivity in on-screen representation and diversity in casting. As a best practice, please submit three to four options per role, with at least one of those options being a person of color. If the Sponsor does not approve any of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options. Additionally, owing to the risk of disruption from COVID, you will be expected to have backup talent approved by the Sponsor in advance of production to account for any last-minute changes.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Tongal supports inclusivity in all of our productions and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback. Check out our Filmmaker Resource Portal to access helpful post-production resources like Text-Safe Guides for different platforms, Project File Organization Tutorial, Export Presets, and Captioning services.

MUSIC: If you use any music from a library for your content, you MUST use one of Tongal's three music providers - Jingle Punks, Universal Production Music and Epidemic Sound. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project, and will not require a Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the providers’ names above.

If you choose to use custom or original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. Please ensure your composer reviews and signs this form BEFORE beginning their work.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec in order to submit final payment. You are responsible for the costs associated the hard drive and shipping.
