WUF is looking for a talented copywriter & editor for its bi-weekly dog and pet owner lifestyle newsletter.

WUF is an inspiring storytelling and experiential organization built around the idea that our dogs spark human transformation and connection, and to that end, they're looking for a copywriter to contribute to their new, upcoming dog and pet owner lifestyle newsletter. The e-mail based newsletter will feature inspiring stories about dogs and human connection, pet ownership, tips and upcoming partner events and promotions. Each newsletter will have an Introduction, and three to five, single paragraph sections that cover:

  • a recap of some of the most relevant dog-centric stories from the current or previous week
  • a summary snapshot of the top dog-centric videos on social media
  • a cool story about a dog in culture
  • a look at what’s ahead in the WUF World content sphere.

As the copywriter & editor for the WUF Newsletter, you'll be writing content for WUF's audience of dog lovers, naturalists and wildlife lovers on a variety of topics, predetermined each cycle. Most of the content sources will be aggregated for you by the WUF Team, but you can expect do a little research on your own.

You can expect each section to be roughly a paragraph in length, although for some sections you may simply be writing one to two sentences to accompany a link and/or image. You'll be provided access to a Mailchimp newsletter template, which you'll also need to populate with imagery from the WUF Team, as well as some images sourced from other online libraries. The greenlit creator is welcome and encouraged to suggest format changes to the newsletter to improve quality and content.

Above all, though, you must love dogs.

For your pitch, you should submit existing writing samples that demonstrate your ability to write for a broad audience. Check out more info below about the process, some helpful references in the Background, and then for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.
