Drive awareness and monthly subscriptions to Southeastern Guide Dogs’ Sponsor a Puppy program with a script for a :60 broadcast spot.

The goal of this project is to create a script for a :60 TVC that encourages viewers to support Southeastern Guide Dogs with a monthly subscription to their Sponsor a Puppy program. Your script will need to work for :30, :15, and :06 versions as well.

Your script should drive awareness to the Sponsor a Puppy program specifically and Southeastern Guide Dogs generally. Viewers should smile and be compelled to donate through the Sponsor a Puppy program.

DELIVERABLES:

  • :60 script

TIMELINE:  For the full project timeline, please see the PDF in the Assets tab.

EXPOSURE:

  • :60 TVC for regional/national broadcast
  • :30 TVC for regional/national broadcast
  • :15 digital/social ad
  • :06 YouTube bumper ad

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Dog lovers everywhere.

TONE:

Optimistic, hopeful, joyful, inspiring, exciting, and informative. Do not be overly saccharine or sentimental.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Your script must integrate puppies in a compelling way
  • Your script should include these key components:
    1. How Southeastern Guide Dogs makes a difference for the people they serve
      1. Primary: recipients with visual impairment
      2. Secondary: veterans with disabilities and children with vision loss or the loss of a parent in the military; (not essential to include the secondary if it does not work for the script)
    2. The Puppy Sponsorship Program:
      1. For as little as $19 a month, you can sponsor a life-changing puppy for someone in need.
      2. Donors receive regular pupdates with news of your puppy’s journey; a photo album and photos of your puppy; a puppy photo magnet; the annual SEGD calendar; and the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping provide services at no cost to someone in need.
  • Your script must encourage viewers to support Southeastern Guide Dogs through their Sponsor a Puppy program for as little as $19 per month
  • Message to the viewer that this is “your puppy” to create a powerful and personal connection.
  • Include the web address and 1-800 number
  • Your script should make clear the importance of Southeastern Guide Dogs, their puppies, and the SEGD mission
  • Your script should focus on Southeastern Guide Dog puppies being raised and trained as future guide and support dogs for people with visual impairments, veterans, and children
  • Your scripts should not imply that Southeastern Guide Dogs are strays, rescues, or pets

Southeastern Guide Dogs transforms lives by creating and nurturing extraordinary partnerships between people and dogs. Our organization operates the most advanced training facilities of any service dog organization in the world. Our experts create and train working dogs — including guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs — and provide life-changing services for people with vision loss, veterans with disabilities, and children with significant challenges such as vision loss or the loss of a parent in the military. Pursuing our mission since 1982, Southeastern Guide Dogs now has over 1,100 dogs under our auspices.

All of our services — which include selective breeding and expert dog training; comprehensive on-campus student instruction; and lifetime alumni support — are provided at no cost to recipients. We rely 100% on private donations and receive no government funding. Southeastern Guide Dogs has the distinction of being dually accredited by the two premier, global accreditation bodies: the International Guide Dog Federation and Assistance Dogs International.
