Make a Pitch for how you would create a Palmolive Body Wash Manifesto Video inspired by connecting people with nature to channel well-being and help the consumer feel more human.

You might know Palmolive from their dish soaps, but over in Europe, Palmolive is a trusted company offering a whole line of household goods, including body wash infused with natural ingredients. Palmolive combines natural extracts you know like honey or olives and milk for a velvety shower experience that is sensible for your body and for your budget. Check out Palmolive Naturals Body Wash here for some moisturizing inspiration.

Palmolive’s audience, primarily women, strive to enjoy everyday moments, take the right state of mind, and consider positivity essential to well-being. The faster the world moves, the more important it is to find balance in one’s life. Palmolive believes this balance can be found in the vibrancy of the nature that surrounds us and wants to help people feel more human by reconnecting them with nature.

Using Palmolive’s brand and using their uplifting tone, your Manifesto Video Pitch will tell the story of how this balance with nature will help find your best, energized, and excited self, ready to tackle the day ahead.

We’re looking for vibrant, creative Manifesto Video Pitches that marry Palmolive Body Wash with finding a natural balance to bring a little positivity to the lives of the consumer. While the connection to the product is vital, they don’t want product centric spots. Ultimately, it’s about focusing on relatable and truthful human moments (big or small) and making a strong and organic connection to Palmolive Body Wash.

A manifesto video should be a statement of intent, an inspiring piece that embodies not just the identity of the brand, but the aspirations of those the brand serves.

**This project will be split into two phases: Pitch Qualification and Pitch.**

The Pitch Qualification Phase is a helpful first step that allows filmmakers to raise their hands and let us know if they are interested in creating a Pitch. Additionally, filmmakers must provide a high-level summary of their creative approach. Five Pitch Qualification winners will be selected and given funds to create a Pitch consisting of a full treatment, storyboards, and a Pitch video of them on camera further articulating their vision. Should the sponsor decide to green light one of the Pitches a separate project with additional budget will be created.

--Executional Mandatories:

  • Must focus on people’s experiences first, but include Palmolive Body Wash as a part of that experience.
  • Should be positive and playful, but not slapstick or foolish
  • Needs to, in some way, express the vibrancy of nature

--Target Audience:

  • Women who know how to take care of themselves and define beauty not just by how they look on the outside, but how they feel on the inside.
  • These positive feelings should also be shareable to the people around them, be it friends or family. Relatable to everyone

--Tone:

  • Playful in imaginative and encouraging ways, but not yoga on a sunny hillside.
  • Honest, but not harsh.
  • Bright and colorful in natural palettes, but not cheerleading in fluorescents.

This Project will be worth a total of $7,500, have five (5) winning Pitches, and consists of two Phases: a Pitch Qualification Phase, and a Pitch Phase.

Attention Filmmakers: This Project will include a Pitch Qualification Phase which gives you the opportunity to submit a 500 character or less synopsis of your creative approach and provide samples of your previous work.

Five Pitch Qualification Phase winners will be selected by Tongal to move forward into the Pitch Phase and awarded $1,500 each to complete a Visual Treatment (see template here), Pitch Video, and Storyboards to further develop their Pitch.

At the end of the Pitch Phase, should the sponsor decide to greenlight one of the Pitches, a separate project with additional budget will be created. Please note that Pitch Qualification Phase winners are not guaranteed to be greenlit into production. If you have any questions about Pitch Qualification, please post to our Forum or reach out to us at info@tongal.com.

PHASE 1:  PITCH QUALIFICATION

For the Pitch Qualification Phase, you will need to write a synopsis of your narrative concepts and technical approach for your Short and confirm your availability for production. You will also need to submit the following items.

  • Pitch Synopsis (REQUIRED):  A synopsis of 500 characters or less that summarizes your story and technical approach to the final Short and sells your creative vision.
  • Links (REQUIRED):  Links to your previous and relevant video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

From the participants submitting Pitches in the Pitch Qualification Phase, 5 filmmakers will be selected by Tongal as the Pitch Qualification Phase winners and will be able to begin constructing their pitches.

PHASE 2:  PITCH

If you are selected by Tongal as one of the five (5) Pitch Qualification Phase winners you will then be able to create your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • Treatment (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a Treatment template, which you can find here.

  • Storyboards (REQUIRED): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across. You can download the Tongal storyboard template here.

  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatic, etc. are welcome.
