Greenlit
Pitch by Mccoy Meyer
A weekly online contest where anyone can create fun content featuring a forgotten animal from a pet shelter. Each week, the web will be given 5 new animal images to be incorporated into a meme, news article, or original video, e.g. http://bit.ly/29WRkZP. Each week, the winners will be decided on Voting Day and cash prizes will be awarded to top creators. The goal here is to shine a light on forgotten animals, while also creating adorable content for sponsors.

Why this? Why now?
Finding homes for pets through shelters and kennels is well-intentioned, but it's based on an old model. Cats and dogs are being put down once every thirteen seconds in the United States. There is clearly not a fast enough initiative to serve these lost animals. In a different arena, hilarious videos, animations, and memes spread like wildfire. We'd like to harness the power of meme creators, and give them the tools to make intelligent content for a good cause, and the chance to win cash too!
Core Consumer Insight
The public loves pets and snackable content. We'd like to combine our love for adorable animals with our addiction to Memes and funny videos. So how do we keep the entertainment going and save the pets at the same time? We give the pet a hat, sunglasses, and make it snuggle with Ryan Gosling! Forgotten to Famous comes at a time when 2.4 million healthy cats and dogs are put down each year. This is an opportunity to serve sponsors and pets alike!
Budget Proposal
Brief Overview
"Forgotten to Famous" is American Idol for pet adoption. There are no filming costs, however, this project is all about curating crowd-sourced videos, memes, gifs, etc. (like the Doritos Challenge.) We'll direct our budget towards effective marketing, media management, and website development. If executed properly, this contest could reach millions of people globally, and raise awareness for adopting animals nationwide. We'll partner with national adoption agencies (like The Humane Society or the National Animal Rescue and Sheltering Coalition) to create a network of pets available to be featured for adoption. By creating a contest (funded by sponsorship dollars) we'll generate massive interest in animal adoption, through the organic nature of social media.
Big Original Content Idea
An online media-making contest, centered around adorable animals and pet adoption that gives meme creators the opportunity to win cash! (Think the Doritos Challenge for pet adoption.)
