Create an innovative and entertaining video that effectively communicates how to safely handle My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream to food retailers.

Ever sit on a Virgin America flight that’s about to take off? Just when you think you are going to have to suffer through another painful explanation of how to operate your seat buckle, the video breaks out into song and dance, and suddenly you’re transported into a full-on Broadway musical production on how to fly safely. That’s where we’re heading with the My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream food handling instructional used to inform retailers on how to handle their ice cream balls with care.

Available in retail packs of 6 and in bulk through its signature self-serve My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream Bars, My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream’s soft sticky rice dough is filled with just the right amount of premium ice cream, leaving you reaching for this perfectly sweet and satiating snack morning, noon, and night. And just like their product, My/Mo infuses their brand and mission with bold and daring versatility, embracing the unique and colorful journey of life.

My/Mo doesn’t want retailers’ eyes to gloss over when they are learning how to take proper care of their snack – they want to capture food retailers undivided attention. How do we do this? That’s where you come in, Tongalers. We’re pushing those boring, unimaginative safe handling instructional videos to the side – cue middle school home economic classes - and asking you to think big, REALLY BIG. Be ambitious, push the envelope, break traditions and standards. How would you make this Video highly entertaining and engaging, but first and foremost, make sure the Video messages the key points of how to properly handle My/Mo Mochi ice cream balls. Check out the Asset tab for the full guidelines.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • This is an open bid project, so you’ll get to set your overall budget proposal. Please download the budget template from the Asset tab below and explicitly state how much you need for your Video. We are looking for pitches in the range of $15,000-$25,000.
  • The visual look and feel are extremely important to the Video. We want to keep the audience visually bound, through costumes, set, props, etc. The ambiance should include clean, bright, poppy colors.
  • If you decide to take a musical dance approach, you will be required to hire a choreographer, dancers, and singer/s. Please take this into consideration when creating your budget.
  • You must communicate each handling guideline in your Video, however, get creative on how to do so. Reword the messaging to fit it into your creative concept. Handling instructions can be found in the Asset tab.
  • You will be required to submit a Production Designer in the Pitch Phase.

Check out more information on this project below!

The goal of this project is to create an inventive and entertaining My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream food handling safety Video that shows retailers how to properly handle their ice cream balls. We can’t stress enough that the Video needs to be entertaining -- it’s important that food retailers engage with the video and watch from start to finish, so as to have the necessary steps to handling My/Mo with care.

Creatively, think how you would make this Video stand out while still clearly conveying the brand instructions on handling My/Mo. Is it an all-out musical dance party, similar to what Virgin America created? Or is it through specific set design and choreography? Similar to what American Airlines produced. Or is it full of fanciful imagery that’s cheeky and endearing, kind of like what Air France did? Wherever your mind is taking you, there is no right or wrong execution, just so long as it is unique, edgy, and witty, and falls in line with who My/Mo Mochi is as a brand and their audience. It should be set within a playful and colorful setting, check out My/Mo’s Ripe Strawberry flavor video to get a sense of the kind of set design the Video should capture. Colorful yet simple, with elements and texture that help create the context.
