Working with existing assets, edit together two fun and relatable travel vlog-style videos to Maui and Cancun, for T-Mobile's YouTube channel.
As T-Mobile updates its YouTube channel this year to maintain a modern and fresh feeling, they have created a new series of Travel Vlogs where T-Mobile employees take you along with them on a string of journeys, for work or for fun. Their videos cover scenic views, quirky landmarks and of course, how T-Mobile helps them to travel with coverage no matter the location. They have already fully produced two videos, but they've also filmed content for two additional videos about trips to Maui and to Cancun, and they need a talented editor to help cut that content together to create some entertaining and effective content.
With that in mind, this project's about utilizing T-Mobile's existing footage to cut together two different 2-5 minute travel vlogs; one about a trip to Maui, and one about a trip to Cancun. You will need to create a 16x9 video for each destination, and while those 16x9 videos will certainly be a top priority, we will also be looking for shorter cutdowns that are specifically designed for 9x16 and YouTube Shorts. Since the original content is natively 16x9, the vertical re-edits will require special attention. Importantly, we want to make sure both videos feature key moments where we're able to highlight T-Mobile traveler benefits, such as how travelers have free Wi-Fi on Delta flights, and how they have mobile service internationally and even in more remote places, thanks to T-Mobile's 5G coverage and mobile without border benefits. We will also be looking to have you add in T-Mobile employee VO to each video once the storyline is in a solid place for them to comment over the video.
Most of the edits will be about finding the best moments from the footage, and then cutting together something that feels snappy and consistently engaging, but we want you to feel free to have fun with your approach, and be able to include motion graphics, text, music, and/or sound effects, and really lean into transitions, clever cuts, camera moves, etc. to make the videos feel more upbeat and interesting. We happen to know that there's some great footage of one of T-Mobile's employees getting swarmed by chickens, so you probably want to include that too. We also obviously still want to ensure the finished product feels fitting to the overall tone of T-Mobile. T-Mobile's got a distinct voice that is vibrant and playful, self-aware and confident, celebratory - but still professional. They're the Un-carrier - cool, clever, maybe even a little quirky. The color magenta (#E20074) is key too (if you haven't already noticed) and it's pervasive throughout T-Mobile content.
For your pitch, we'd like you to submit a proof-of-concept video, up to :15 for Cancun, to get a better sense of how you're proposing to liven these up. You can use the existing assets shared down below to help demonstrate your approach. In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.
The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.
Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.
