Edit together a suite of uniquely energetic and captivating videos for T-Mobile's Major League Baseball partnership to showcase the exclusive brand offers that will be present throughout the upcoming All-Star Week.

*This is a fast-moving project with 12-24 hour editing turnarounds*

T-Mobile's cutting-edge 5G network enhances the baseball experience for fans, providing them with lightning-fast connectivity whether they're streaming games on the go or just sharing their favorite moments from the ballpark. T-Mobile's partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) takes things to a new level with exclusive access and benefits to its customers and businesses, including innovative features like T-Mobile's Magenta Status perks, and they want to showcase those exclusive offers using footage from the upcoming All-Star Week.

All footage and photos will be captured by the T-Mobile team, at All-Star Week, between July 12-16 and you will need to turn around edits for the T-Mobile team within 12-24 hours of filming to be posted by the exec team on their social channels the following day, so availability is often the best ability. The cadence of the exact videos is still being determined, but we have included a preliminary breakdown in the timeline. As we'll need to move fast once we have footage, we're looking to develop some of the video assets in the weeks prior to the event. The exact messaging for the videos will be provided by T-Mobile, but they should include key points and themes mentioned in the Background. We'll want to create cool, flashy, modern, and magenta-branded motion-graphic templates that can serve as the foundation for these videos. With an established template and style, including an approach to motion text, it'll be easier to plug footage in when it's ready. HERE is an example of a template they have used in the past. In this case, they used borders and typography to elevate video footage, but since we're working with MLB footage, we'd want something even more engaging and dynamic for these sizzle videos.

We'll need to find a fast editor that can produce a total of seven – up to :60 – dynamic and unique MLB highlight reels that seamlessly integrate three of T-Mobile's network initiatives: Innovation, Customer Experience Benefits, and Magenta Status. There will also be a fourth initiative focused on the tech, showcasing how the T-Mobile 5G Network activations are moving businesses, enterprises, and the game forward. This messaging will be a slightly more complicated edit than the other three as it will get into more tech-forward details and include footage like capturing engineers putting up the 5G batting practice. There will also be variations of some of the main pillars, which may include different footage or alternative messaging on the main topics, for a total of seven videos. We have included a breakdown of what we are looking to cover in each pillar video and previous references from T-Mobile in the Background.

Since this content will be shared directly by executive leadership at T-Mobile on their LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, there's a lot of visibility here, so we want something visually interesting and engaging, but it's still got to remain professional and not too silly. Thematically, these sizzles highlight the synergy between T-Mobile's cutting-edge technology and the excitement of Major League Baseball, and you'll want to pull that through and make them feel engaging for both sports fans and tech enthusiasts. You should also think about transitions, and how you can make the pacing feel snappy and exciting, with clever cuts, camera moves, etc. You may also feel free to use any baseball lingo (e.g. "fastball speeds") or even puns like "home run coverage" to create a fun and relatable narrative.

For your pitch, we'd like you to submit a proof-of-concept video to get a better sense of how you're proposing to approach the mix of MLB and T-Mobile's initiatives. We would also highly recommend you include how you would plan to approach the tech-forward edits within your submission. However, remember that these will need to happen fast, so if there's a template that you can envision for these we highly suggest that you include it in your pitch.

Check out more information in the Background, and for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

DELIVERABLES: There are 14 total video assets.

  • Seven up to :60 hero videos (1x1, 9x16)

EXPECTED TIMELINE: HERE

EXPOSURE: We expect content will be used on the platforms below, but if casting talent, be sure they review our required Talent Release before they're cast, as it is NOT limited to these platforms. You should also review our Music providers in the Project Requirements, as well as the platform best practices.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Baseball fans who are tech-savvy, existing and potential T-Mobile customers.

TONE/FEEL: Energetic, fun, relatable, and clever

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Always make Magenta (#E20074) the hero color.
  • Other primary brand colors are Dark Magenta (#861B54), Dark Gray (#6A6A6A), Light Gray (#E8E8E8), Black (#000000), and White (#FFFFFF).
  • Your video should avoid competitor colors (e.g. Verizon's reds, AT&T's blues).

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects do move forward, we'll notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the Project Forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and project team.

MLB ALL-STAR WEEK VIDEO TOPICS:

  • T-Mobile's 5G Network in action
  • At least three of the videos should be fun, flashy, and fitting for social:
    • Network Innovation: Highlight T-Mobile's advanced network capabilities, such as 5G coverage and speed.
    • Customer Experience Benefits: Showcase the superior benefits that T-Mobile customers enjoy.
    • Magenta Status: Communicate the exclusive perks and premium status that come with being a Magenta customer.
  • At least one, but possibly two videos should be tech-forward, think of a detailed, dynamic, and explainer video with a magenta flair:
    • MLB & 5G Activations: This video will take the angle of the sponsorship side and technology of what 5G is doing. Pulling together a recap of what T-Mobile's network capabilities have enabled for the stadium and showing how they can help businesses and enterprises move forward with the T-Mobile network is a key pillar, too. This video should emulate “this is the idea of how we’re telling the story of the technology.”

HELPFUL REFERENCE VIDEOS FOR INSPIRATION/TONE: These are just a few of the recent videos created on Tongal, and they're a good example of the stylistic diversity you can incorporate when approaching this project.

  • Winner's Circle - This is a great example of a pre-made template created for the T-Mobile event where the footage was plugged in later for Jon Freier to post on social
  • T-Mobile Emergency Response - This video is a mix of T-Mobile specific footage, disaster footage, and text to push the power the T-Mobile response team can have when working with first responder agencies and government officials.
  • T-Mobile Scam-Shield & Left-Handed Keyboard Videos - These are great examples of how existing footage was taken and refreshed through the use of motion graphics, stock imagery, and typography.
  • Previous Evergreen Offers Videos - This is what we mean when we mention modern, stylish, and tech-forward in design aesthetic.
  • Hispanic Heritage Quote Video - Look at how vibrant and fluidly energetic this is, and how the artistry shines through unexpectedly, with a very modern feel.
  • Benefits & Sustainability Video - This is a good example of how a mixed media/motion graphic approach can bring the same kind of electric energy, showcasing some abstract artistry in its design elements to make the image feel lively without being cluttered.

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables. Explain what we can expect to see, and how you'll make it. If it's helpful, we've provided a treatment template HERE.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, editor, artist, etc.) but do not include links to your showreel. Please link to individual videos.

  • PROOF-OF-CONCEPT VIDEO (Optional): If helpful, we encourage you to submit an optional proof-of-concept video based on the information provided in the Objectives section.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to the commencement of actual production, creators MUST receive final approval from the Sponsor on the elements below. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until an element is approved.

If you begin production before you have received final approval, you may need to reshoot or reanimate at your own expense.

  • TREATMENT Describe in detail how you plan to execute the content, and how you plan to bring it to life visually. Feel free to use concept art, references, style frames, or mock-ups. If relevant, share additional information about your team, and your process.

For convenience, we've provided some helpful templates that you can consider using for pre-production materials, and they can all be accessed here.
