Cast accredited experts and produce an engaging and informative live-action explainer series about parenting to build on existing content from Enfamil's "Ask a Pediatrician" series.

As parents, we're always learning, right alongside our babies, and as we grow and explore, we're constantly trying to figure out the best way to feed them, comfort them, and keep them safe. That's why Enfamil has their "Ask a Pediatrician" series, which provides answers to common questions from parents with authoritative, accredited, and relatable experts, so parents can feel confident in the information they're receiving.

The goal of the project is to build upon the "Ask a Pediatrician" series with some new live-action "Ask An Expert" or "Ask Us Anything" style videos, just as engaging and informative, but elevated a bit more than the originals. You will ultimately need to produce eight new 2-3 minute episodes of content for this, along with social cutdowns and still images. Since this won't necessarily be a direct extension of "Ask a Pediatrician," you're not locked in the exact same title or format, and you have some degree of creative freedom, though you should not stray too far stylistically in terms of the format or background style. You'll probably want to go with a greenscreen or white cyc. The key to this project though is that you'll need to source 5 accredited experts to serve as talent in your videos.

Scripts will be provided, and you can find all the video topics in the Background, but the experts should use their own words and anecdotes to make these videos personable and relatable. This is a highly regulated field and your experts will need to be vetted, which includes a background check. It's obviously extremely important that the talent is relatable and engaging too, and someone that parents aged 25-34 can easily connect with, so you'll want to rely on video casting to get a good sense of their screen presence. We anticipate that you'll need a pediatrician and an OBGYN, and you may also consider finding a mid-wife or a lactation consultant.

We’ll want to ensure consumers know these videos are created by Enfamil, but the videos themselves should be generic educational content, rather than branded advertisements. Social cutdowns should be able to stand on their own, so we expect that they'll present one or two key facts from each episode, and in a way that is relevant to the different social formats. They should not merely be a teaser for the full episode, and you might want to consider relying more on motion graphics or animation here since the focus is on communicating some helpful information quickly.

Check out more information in the Background, and for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

TIMELINE: HERE

EXPOSURE: We anticipate content will be used on the platforms listed below, but if casting talent, please be sure your talent reviews the required Talent Release, as it is not limited to these platforms. You should also review our Music providers in the Project Requirements, as well as the platform best practices page.

  • YouTube
  • Enfamil.com
  • Enfamil Family Beginnings Mobile App
  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • TikTok

TARGET AUDIENCE: The target audience is moms and parents between the ages of 20 and 44, but with a particular focus on those who are 25 to 34 years old. They are super knowledgeable, love to plan ahead, and always want to give their baby the best. They do their research and seek advice from family and friends, but they also rely heavily on healthcare professionals.

TONE: The tone should be similar to the existing "As a Pediatrician" videos with Dr. Kyla, feeling credible, knowledgeable, authentic, relatable, and informative.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES

  • Talent should be an accredited expert (e.g. a board-certified pediatrician, etc.) in the United States, and you should submit their accreditations with your casting. Talent should also fit within the target audience demographics to be relatable to moms, and be authoritative as an expert in their field.
    • The pediatrician must be FAAP
    • The OBGYN must be FACOG
    • Lactation Consultant must be IBCLC
    • Midwife must be certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board
    • Sleep Consultant must have a certification (ie by the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants)
  • Talent will be subject to a full background check, including social media.
  • Motion graphics must be a part of your creative approach, although you can shoot your expert in a more stripped-down docu-style manner.
  • The client will need to be present on set so plan accordingly in terms of video village, production assistants, and catering. You MUST also provide a live feed of the shoot for feedback.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects on our platform do move forward, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

Shooting live-action or stop-motion? Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, and we're now requiring a COVID safety protocol plan for all relevant productions. Please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • COVID PROTOCOL (REQUIRED): Please let us know your team’s COVID safety protocols for production. If you’re doing everything yourself, or your team will be working 100% remotely, let us know that this won’t apply. Otherwise, at the very minimum, your safety plan must include information about:
    • What city and state you plan to film in
    • Whether you are filming interiors or exteriors
    • Approximately how many people you plan to have on set
    • How you’ll account for testing, PPE, and distancing on set
    • How you’ll handle talent and backup talent, including any hair, make-up, and wardrobe needs
    • Whether you’ll have a dedicated compliance officer on set

  • HEADSHOTS/CASTING BOARDS (OPTIONAL): Please include expert options who you could cast for this project. You will need to include their background as well as any accreditations they may have.

  • STORYBOARDS (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across. You can download the Tongal storyboard template here.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from the Sponsor.

  • SCRIPT: This project requires script approval (if the script deviates from what's provided). The Sponsor may provide feedback on your script and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback.
  • CASTING: This project requires casting approval. Tongal advocates for inclusivity in on-screen representation and diversity in casting. As a best practice, please submit three to four options per role, with at least one of those options being a person of color. If the Sponsor does not approve any of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options. Additionally, owing to the risk of disruption from COVID, you will be expected to have backup talent approved by the Sponsor in advance of production to account for any last-minute changes.
  • STORYBOARD: This project requires storyboard approval. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your storyboard and ask you to submit a new version.
  • LOCATION: This project requires location approval. This means you will need to submit multiple images of your primary filming location. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your location and ask you to submit additional photos or to find a new location and submit images for that.
  • WARDROBE: This project requires wardrobe approval. You will need to submit descriptions and/or pictures of your cast’s wardrobe. You must submit at least two wardrobe options per role. If the Sponsor does not approve either of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new wardrobe options.
  • PHOTOGRAPHER: This project requires photographer approval. Once your pitch is greenlit, the Sponsor may either approve your photographer or ask you to submit a new one for approval.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Tongal supports inclusivity in all of our productions and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase.
