Create a suite of five UGC-style (homemade, using your smart phone) videos reviewing Landroid, a cordless, robotic lawn mower.

The goal of this project is to create a suite of authentic UGC-style videos reviewing Landroid, a cordless, robotic lawn mower. Each selected reviewer will create a suite of 5 short videos. See below for the exact deliverables and subject of each video. Videos can be shot on a smart phone or a more consumer friendly camera. Totally up to you! The Sponsor, Positec, is looking to greenlight 10 reviewers, so there is a lot of opportunity here!

Each selected Reviewer will be provided a Landroid to keep (a $1,000 value!) along with a total payment of $1,200 upon delivery of the final videos.

If you match this description, you should consider submitting to be a Reviewer!

  • Are tech forward, 30-60 year olds.
  • Are passionate about home improvement / maintenance.
  • Live in an area of the US with green lawns in December (CA, FL, etc). This is restricted to the continental US-only (no Alaska or Hawaii).
  • Have a lawn that is a quarter to half acre of cutting grass, and are willing to install / use the product.
  • Will post video on your own social channels, specifically your own YouTube channel. This is not mandatory, but great if you do have a following and can reach a large number of people with your video review. If you post your video to social media, make sure you at least tag it with #ad to make sure you comply with FTC Endorsement Guides.

DELIVERABLES:

  • 1 minute unboxing video.
  • 1 minute Landroid set up video.
  • 1 minute video using the Landroid app.
  • 1 minute testimonial review video.
  • 1 minute of footage in the yard mowing, returning to the base, docking, going around obstacles, changing the blades, low to ground shots,  and installing accessories.

**Everything should be 16x9 aspect ratio, but please try to shoot most of the content in the center so it can be cropped square if needed.

**Video reviews can follow a step by step format: registration, set up, un boxing, reactions to first mowing, video of programing the unit on the app, installing the accessories, intuitive troubleshooting, ease of use, making it work with the custom yard sizes, etc. The idea is to be honest, authentic, and helpful!

Click here for a great example of a Landroid video (which includes unboxing, setup, using the app, testimonial & showing it work) so you can get a sense of what to do! Also, this and this are some other great references of testimonial videos for different products to get inspired by!

The Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a pitch. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, editor, etc.), and please link to individual videos (not a show reel).

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A description of what's going to happen in the videos. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here. This one is a little more elaborate though, so please feel free to just do a simple one-pager in this case!

  • REVIEWER CASTING & LOCATION VIDEO (REQUIRED): Please provide a short video clip (does not have to be high quality! Simple phone video is totally fine) of the reviewer on their lawn. They can just talk for a couple sentences about their love for lawns or tell us anything that makes them stand out and be perfect for this opportunity! And make sure we can see the beautiful lawn :)

  • SHIPPING INFO (REQUIRED): Please provide your shipping info, including contact number. In the event that you are greenlit, we will need to ship out the Landroid product ASAP.

The most compelling pitches will be greenlit, and upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creator will receive funding. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.
