Create a short logo animation for The LEGO Group that can be used in movies and in other entertainment content to showcase the iconic brand, and to highlight the evolution of the LEGO brand in a visually unique and interesting way.
You've seen unforgettable logos at the start of just about every major film you've ever seen: the majestic spinning globe of Universal Studios... the star-crested mountaintop of Paramount... the carefree moonchild, fishing for DreamWorks. Now, it's time to make one yourself - for LEGO.
That's right, The LEGO Group is looking for an animator from the Tongal community to create a brand new LEGO animated logo. It'll be just like the above, but way better, because... well, it's LEGO. This is your chance to create an animated logo that builds excitement and wows audiences, and it could appear ahead of major films, like the upcoming Focus Features film, Piece by Piece, which tells the life story of Pharrell Williams (wink wink). Not only could your animated logo be used in the film, but it could also be used across all LEGO Entertainment content moving forward, for years to come, if you blow our minds and really deliver something awesome.
Your logo video should lean into the fun, creativity, and imagination that The LEGO Group is known for, and it should find a way to celebrate the evolution of the LEGO brand across the years. Since this will be used in high-profile content, it's important that we're able to create something with a very high production value, so not only will you need to deliver this in multiple aspect ratios, but we'll expect 4K and 6K outputs of the main logo as well. In terms of execution, while this animation should be :06 in total length, the final shot should land on the current LEGO logo for the last :02.
We're open to any types of animation (3D, 2D, etc.) that you think could work well for this, as long as it's very high quality. Your animation should not include any music or sound effects.
Creatively, here are a few initial sparks of inspiration get you started. In your treatment, we want to see your approach to each of these three concepts. We're also are asking for a creative proof-of-concept video, however you'll only need to show one of these in your video. Check out the Relevant Assets section below, which links to a folder of LEGO logos that you can use to create these.

PITCH PHASE:
Three creators will be given $5,000 to develop and refine two high-quality versions of your logo animations as part of the Pitch Phase. You will not be required to resubmit your Past work.
The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.
Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.

If you begin production before you have received final approval, you may need to reshoot or reanimate at your own expense.
