Ralph Waldo Emerson said "Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door." So that's the challenge - each episode focuses on a team's effort to improve on an invention already in existence - be it a fun or useful or addition. It could be slightly tongue-in-cheek, say one team might create instruments and make a 'better' version of a popular song, or another team could create a 'twerking' robot.
