Create five :15-:30 second fun and engaging digital videos to increase downloads of Homescapes, an Andriod and iOS game by Playrix.

The goal of this project is to create five live-action digital videos, :15-:30 seconds each, that will encourage viewers to download Homescapes, a free Playrix game available on Android and iOS.

Your videos should be simple but fun and engaging and must include actual or simulated gameplay in a live-action setting.

DELIVERABLES:

You may base your pitch on any combination of the concepts below. That means you can create five unique videos based on one concept, or you can create one video per concept – or any number of concepts in between.

CONCEPTS:

  1. Easy as a Tap
Home movers, carrying a heavy couch, move it from left to right with difficulty. A woman’s voice (subtitles) directs them: “To the left! No, more to the right.” Camera pulls out and she’s actually playing Homescapes and moving a couch in the game.

BRAND NOTE: There are no movers in the game, so take a creative approach to this device and be sure to grab viewers’ attention within the first 3 seconds, especially with sound off.

  2. A Change of Scene
A woman sits still, engrossed in playing Homescapes on her tablet. Meanwhile…all around her, her home is changing: wallpapers switch colors, furniture is replaced and rearranged, new pieces appear. She looks up briefly – and continues to play.

BRAND NOTE: The brand likes how this concept brings the game to life and doesn’t require audio. Be sure to show her home ‘renovating’ in the first 3 seconds to catch attention early.

  3. A Whole New World
Brad sits on his drab couch in a drab house playing Homescapes. After matching icons, his couch is suddenly transformed into a luxurious one. He scores again and his home is now beautiful. His ugly dog walks in, and POOF! a show dog!

BRAND NOTE: Again, be sure to show the transformations in the first 3 seconds. Consider showing Brad’s dog changing into a tabby cat like Barnaby, the in-game cat.

  4. Match Everything
Woman plays Homescapes religiously; now she must match everything in real life. Books on bookshelf are sorted by color; clothes in the closet match up perfectly; bag of candy is separated into colors; files in drawer all color-coordinated, etc.

BRAND NOTE: We love the idea of taking the match-3 gameplay into the real world and showing the woman matching 3 items together to create order and harmony. This really brings the metaphor to life.

  5. Birds of a Feather
People in life-size puppets (cup, table lamp, book, etc) are looking for each other. A pair of identicals meets, but nothing changes. Then a 3rd identical puppet comes in, and magic happens! Short, energetic dance and they disappear, freeing up space for a new match.

BRAND NOTE: Feel free to get wacky with the puppets/costumes and the dance to grab attention, especially in the first 3 seconds.

You may use the same cast and location across your videos, but be sure to speak to how you will ensure your videos are distinct pieces of creative and not just iterations on a theme, especially if you’re pitching against a single concept.

EXPOSURE:  Facebook and Instagram

TARGET AUDIENCE:

  • PRIMARY: Women 30+
  • SECONDARY: Mobile gamers of all ages

TONE:  Exciting, fun, engaging, energetic, bright, and unique.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Execution can be against one or more of the concepts but all should be live-action
  • Must be designed around getting viewers to download the app
  • All five videos must be between :15-:30 seconds
  • All five videos must involve gameplay
  • Adhere to Facebook and Instagram best practices, which can be found here.

Homescapes is a fun, interactive, and immersive match-3 game with a deep storyline that allows you to live out your interior decorator dreams as you help Austin the Butler renovate his childhood home. It’s the perfect break-time activity.

Playrix wants to help Homescapes stand out from the incredibly crowded field of free mobile games with a suite of digital videos that speak directly to viewers and encourage them to download the game.

Other games have gone the live-action route before; this video should give you a good sense of where the bar is currently set – and how it can be improved upon:

In order to be considered for this project you must include the below materials in your Pitch submission. For examples of effective Pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a Treatment template, which you can find here.

  • SCRIPT (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • STORYBOARDS (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across. You can download the Tongal storyboard template here.

  • HEADSHOTS/CASTING BOARDS (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatic, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling Pitch will be greenlit, and upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creator will receive funding. Please note the payment of the Pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets tab.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting filmmakers must receive the below Approvals from the sponsor.

  • SCRIPT: This project requires Script Approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. The brand may provide feedback on your Script and ask you to submit a new version. There may be a reasonable number of rounds of feedback until a Script is approved by the brand.
  • HEADSHOT: This project requires Headshot Approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. You must submit at least two actor options per role. If the brand does not approve either of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options.

For your convenience we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a Treatment, Production Budget, Storyboards, Shot List, Call Sheet, and a Music Cue Sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present the Sponsor cast, location, and wardrobe options. They can all be accessed here.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. During this phase, filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their Videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback.

MUSIC: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Jingle Punks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound, any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

If you choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from third-party catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with your license purchase receipt when you turn in your Video paperwork.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec in order to submit final payment. In addition, to the project files you are also required to provide all raw footage on a hard drive. You will be responsible for the costs associated the hard drive (if necessary) and shipping.
