Create two engaging videos in the style of what you'd see in live gaming or streaming content to promote Chime to potential users on social media.
Chime is a financial technology company founded on the premise that basic banking services should be helpful, easy, and free, and they want to spread the word! To help promote Chime to potential new users, Chime is looking to create two videos in the style of what you'd see in a lot of the live gaming and live streaming content out there, in which a "gamer" character would be discussing the benefits of Chime for the audience.
You can get a sense of the style of video that the Chime team will be aiming for HERE. This sample is a great representation of the location and set design that will be needed - including RGB lighting, a gaming chair and headset, etc. Most importantly, that example also demonstrates the energy that you'd need from the talent. Casting will be key here, and we'll be looking for talent that has big, gregarious energy, an upbeat delivery, and that feels like they could actually be a well known gamer (although please note, they don't actually need to be a gamer or livestreamer, and you can definitely cast an actor for the role).
You'll note that the reference linked above does have cutaways and picture-in-picture with different animated moments from gameplay footage, but you are not expected to create any sort of "gameplay" content. Instead, you will have access to screens from the Chime user interface, and you can add slight motion to it, if needed. If you plan to use cutaways though, please tell us a bit more about what you'd do in your treatment.
You will be creating two different videos for this project, but the talent and location set up can remain the same between both videos. The only difference will be in the actual messaging, as we'd like one video to focus on Chime's Credit Builder card, and the other to focus on the features of Chime's online banking, including fee-free overdraft, early access to paychecks, and no monthly fees. Your gamer character can be speaking directly to camera, responding to "comments" in a chat, talking about how they use Chime for their own setup, or something else entirely, as long as they are able to clearly discuss the benefits of Chime in a way that feels like a genuine interaction on a gaming stream.
In terms of style, please note that these videos should seem more elevated than pure UGC content, but not so polished that they feel like a TV commercial. So really we'd be looking to strike the balance between something that feels a little more polished than the average TikTok video, while still feeling like it belongs on the platform.
In your treatment, please tell us more about how you'd bring this to life, and make it feel like a real gaming live stream. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.
