Create fun and shareable video supercuts and/or memes with footage from your favorite TNT, TBS, and truTV shows and movies.

WarnerMedia is looking for multiple different editors to create fun and shareable supercuts and meme videos from movies and TV shows currently running on TBS, TNT, and truTV.

These supercuts and memes should play broadly with the theme of social distancing, and encourage people to stay home and watch all the great content available with WarnerMedia. Your videos should remind people that they're nostalgic for older content like Seinfeld and Family Matters, or get them excited for new episodes of shows like Tacoma FD or the uncut version of The Lost World: Jurassic Park. For supercuts, maybe this means a compilation of beloved movie and TV characters parked on their couches; for memes, maybe it's a video cutting together Pennywise luring a bored Jake Peralta into the sewer with the promise of a great movie, like this.

There are a wealth of movie and TV titles at your disposal, and the ask here is pretty open-ended; video clips, soundbites, characters, and still images are at your disposal to chop into supercuts and memes as you see fit. You can incorporate motion graphics, overlays, and animation to tie content from different sources together, if that's your jam. Maybe you've always dreamed of editing together a true superhero battle royale bracket that will get fans at home super psyched, or maybe you want to create an empty New York City with b-roll from Seinfeld, Friends, and Brooklyn 99 to remind people it's okay to stay indoors. We're not here to tell you that's weird (although it kind of is), we just want to see you make it happen.

To see what's airing and streaming on the channels right now, check out the links below, and keep in mind the movies are updated frequently:

You can find the full list of movies currently airing on TNT and TBS in the Assets tab. Please note: these movies change fairly frequently, so the list in the PDF may not be exhaustive or 100% accurate.

You must use the assets in THIS FOLDER to create sample clips/memes for your Pitch.

Our priority is to make sure everyone is safe. Along with that, we’re working really hard to keep people working during this strange time. Our advice here is to submit only if you feel you can do something within the anticipated timeline that ensures everyone's safety given today's reality.

Because this project has two separate sets of deliverables, please read the rest of the brief carefully.

DELIVERABLES: Editors will be selected to create either video supercuts or memes. Depending on which you're selected for, your deliverables will be different.

  • IF SUPERCUTS:
    • Two videos (1x1) up to :60 in length
  • IF MEMES:
    • Four memes (1x1) up to :60 in length
    • Memes should be videos or GIFs, but you can incorporate stills. While video is preferred, your memes can also be GIFs - just be sure to upload your sample GIF meme as an .mp4 file.

We encourage you to pitch for both supercuts and memes; just please upload those as separate submissions using the dropdown menu.

TIMELINE: For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE: Videos will be posted on WarnerMedia-owned social media channels.

TONE: Funny, clever, ironic, nostalgic, goofy, a little weird –  really anything can work as long as it's entertaining!

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • SUPERCUTS:
    • Supercuts should have the energy of a trailer, teaser, or highlight reel (quick, punchy, creative match-cuts, etc)
    • Supercuts must be delivered with baked-in subtitles for sound-off viewing
  • MEMES:
    • Memes should play with established pop culture tropes (aka...memes) but with a social distancing theme
    • Memes built around or including quotes must include baked-in subtitles
    • GIF-type memes should be uploaded as .mp4 files
    • You can ONLY use media from content available on WM; you can recreate existing memes, but you must do it with WM clips/stills
  • Play on the theme of social distancing, and encourage people to stay home with WarnerMedia content to keep them entertained
  • Draw on nostalgia and/or create excitement for the content available on air and streaming from TNT, TBS, and truTV
  • You MUST use the assets in THIS FOLDER to create a sample asset for your pitch. This folder contains the below footage:

OPEN BID:

  • This is an open bid project, so you will get to set your own budget up to $2,000 per suite of content (2 supercuts OR 4 memes).
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

Think about some of the best supercuts and pop culture-based memes you've seen. We referenced Pennywise in the gutter above, but there are a lot of fun formats to play with here.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this suite of content.

  • CLIPS OR MEMES (REQUIRED): Please specify whether your pitch is for two clips or four memes using the dropdown.

  • SAMPLE VIDEO (REQUIRED):  Please submit ONE sample video or meme (depending on your pitch) based on the information provided in the Objectives section utilizing the PROVIDED ASSETS.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in your suite of content. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • BID (REQUIRED): This is an open bid project, so you’ll get to set your overall bid proposal. The Sponsor would like each producer to create either two supercuts or four meme videos for a total bid of up to $2,000.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

The most compelling pitches will be greenlit, and upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creator will receive funding. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Editors will perform reasonable edits on their Clips or GIFs according to the Sponsor’s feedback.
