Create a mix of eye-catching GIFs and static images for some of the offerings that T-Mobile has year round, and do something a little unexpected with the visuals so you maintain the clever and dynamic feel that's become a signature of T-Mobile.

Social media's got plenty of talk, but we all know it's visuals that excite people, so - animators, illustrators, and all you other wizards of design - this is another T-Mobile GIF project for you to run with. In this project, T-Mobile wants us to create a mix of GIFs and static images that their employees can use to showcase some of the "evergreen" offerings that T-Mobile has for customers - everything from their typical cell phone plans to their ScamShield robocall blocker and their T-Mobile MONEY online banking options. As always, they want this to be something really clever, eye-catching, and dynamic.

The goal of this project is for you to create 5 GIFs and 5 static images that use interesting visuals to communicate something about the different benefits, perks, and features that make these offerings stand out. There are five offerings, and you'll make one GIF and one image for each:

  1. T-Mobile for Business
  2. T-Mobile MONEY
  3. Cell Phone Plans
  4. T-Mobile Tuesdays
  5. ScamShield.

The static images are NOT meant to be taken from your GIFs, so those'll need to be unique. This 5/5 split means graphic design is important, since design will also factor into the GIFs, but including actual text with key messaging is important too. For that messaging, you can simply adapt some of the info that's already on T-Mobile's website, taking a line or two of description or critical details, and working that into your content. This means you won't need to come up with entirely new copy; instead, put thought into how you can pair copy with a strong and relevant visual.

The fun part here really is the tone, the style, and the freedom to approach this in many different ways. T-Mobile's got a distinctive voice that is vibrant and playful, self-aware and confident, but still professional. They're the Un-carrier - cool, clever, even a little quirky. Any GIFs or social pics their employees put their name on have to embody that, so this is is NOT just about putting white text on a magenta background - these need to be dynamic and have a lot of character to surprise and delight. They're also not "ads," as these should feel more casual than that. We've shared a ton of different cool examples down in the Background, and you'll see there's A LOT of variety.

In terms of the differences between GIFs and static images, there isn't one stylistically - T-Mobile's looking for a lot of bite-sized content and that means some of the simpler messaging will just be presented with a static image instead of a GIF. Those static images are unique assets though, and they should be just as interesting and playful as the GIFs.

For your pitch, we highly recommend submitting a proof of concept GIF or static image in your Treatment or Pitch Video. Start with T-Mobile for Business or T-Mobile Money, as they'll be part of Batch 1 for delivery. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

PREVIOUS T-MOBILE GIFS: These are just a few of the recent GIFs created on Tongal, and they're a good example of how much stylistic diversity and freedom you have in approaching this project. For the static image assets, take a look at these and imagine what a single frame would look like.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • SCRIPT (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.
