T-Mobile is looking for a creator to produce a suite of lively and informative static images that will help their Careers team amplify the benefits of working at T-Mobile.

If you didn't already know by now, T-Mobile's got some really wonderful employee benefits, alongside an incredible company culture, and their Careers Team is back to make sure people know about some of the other perks of being a T-Mobile employee. They support their employees and their employee's families in all aspects of their well-being. They know each person has unique needs and goals for work and life, so when you work for T-Mobile, you become unstoppable together. When most companies share their employee benefits, they will list out the dull "perks" bullet point by bullet point until you're confused and the words have no meaning, but that's sooooooo boring. T-Mobile is the Un-carrier. If they are going to showcase benefits, they are going to visually show off just how awesome the benefits can be. Health care and time off is just the beginning of what T-Mobile has to offer! They have you covered in all aspects of life; whether it's helping you continue your education, providing advisors and coaches, matching your donations, or even saving you money on retail, travel, entertainment, and more!

The goal here is to create several original static images that highlight some of the employee benefits. While there are six different benefit programs T-Mobile wants to feature, you will need to produce twelve total static images, which means two images per benefit program. Each image should be unique, while feeling like part of one consistent suite. To read all about each of the employee benefits and programs, check out the information in the Background.

Since there are multiple images, you will be delivering these assets in three total batches, working on four images at a time. If you have multiple ideas for each program, feel free to share the different approaches in your treatment as T-Mobile could choose one of your styles to move forward with for all the images. Keep in mind that T-Mobile is a tech-forward company, so we're aiming for graphics that feels invigorating, engaging, entertaining, and even playful. The messaging should be simple and straightforward - we want the visuals to stand out, and hook potential employees, so the key message lands. We expect that you'll want to lean heavily on 2D animation and mixed media styles, and 3D if it makes sense, along with some clever use of typography or stock imagery.

For your pitch, we highly encourage that you submit a proof of concept / first draft of an image asset along with your Treatment. This is primarily for T-Mobile employees to share too; they will do so on their personal social media accounts for their family, friends, and professional contacts. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

DELIVERABLES: There are 12 total assets.

    • Twelve static images; two images per benefit (1x1)

TIMELINE: HERE

EXPOSURE: We anticipate content will be used on the platforms listed below, but if casting talent, please be sure your talent reviews the required Talent Release, as it is not limited to these platforms. You should also review our Music providers in the Project Requirements, as well as the platform best practices page.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Career seekers, millennials, and Gen-Zers.

TONE: Self-aware, humorous, surprising, winking but not too snarky, big, bold, fun & relatable

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • You should adhere to certain elements of the T-Mobile brand guidelines. A few specific call-outs are below:
    • The primary logo to use is the full T-Mobile logo.
    • Always make Magenta (#E20074) the hero color in designs.
      • Other primary brand colors are Dark Magenta (#861B54), Dark Gray (#6A6A6A), Light Gray (#E8E8E8), Black (#000000), and White (#FFFFFF).
    • The official brand font is TeleNeo; the font will be provided to the selected creator.
  • Your video should avoid competitor colors (e.g. Verizon's reds, AT&T's blues).

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects on our platform do move forward, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

T-MOBILE BENEFITS AND KEY MESSAGING: Your images should feature the following benefits with some messaging that touches upon what's included in the descriptions below.

  • Tuition Assistance: It's never too late to go back to school! T-Mobile fully funds the cost of tuition for eligible employees. Yep, tuition and books are covered at 100% at several universities. You’re eligible for classes directly related to your position or another role at T-Mobile.
  • Perks At Work Program: You and your family can enjoy special savings on retail items, travel, entertainment, dining, and much more. T-Mobile employees have access to exclusive savings through Perks at Work. Enjoy discounts from all your favorite stores!
    • Note: The site is a Groupon-style offering full of eclectic deals that range from electronics, foodie deals, activities, etc.
  • Health Pros: Health Pros are experts available for T-Mobile employees to help you find the right physicians and specialists, providing price estimates for medical procedures, resolving problem medical bills, and avoiding overcharges. Your Health Pro can help clarify your healthcare bills and help you understand your T-Mobile benefits and what they cover. They can even call and make your appointments for you! No more nervously rehearsing what to say or calling your mom to make the appointments for you. Your Health Pro can do the heavy lifting for you.
  • LiveMagenta: T-Mobile Employees have unlimited access to a LiveMagenta life coach 24/7/365 at 855-780-5958 to give you support wherever you’re at in life. Work with a health coach, quit tobacco, and use state-of-the-art apps to work on your health, finances, resiliency, and more. Make sure to save LiveMagenta.com to the home screen of your mobile device for quick access.
  • Magenta Match Program: The T-Mobile Foundation will match your charitable donations to eligible organizations, dollar for dollar.  We'll also match the time you volunteer, with $10 per hour, up to $2,000 per year. We support the causes that inspire you so that together we can create healthy, vibrant communities. Since 2015, more than $19M has been donated by our employees and T-Mobile Foundation in programs like this—talk about changing our communities!
  • Volun-T Grants Program: Through the Volun-T Grants Program, you can apply for funding from the T-Mobile Foundation to support local volunteer projects that fall within the categories of Digital Empowerment, Equity in Action, and Sustainability. You have access to additional voluntary benefits at special rates via payroll deduction. Whether you’re planning to volunteer on your own or you’re organizing a team-wide volunteer event, the Volun-T program is for you!

PREVIOUS T-MOBILE CONTENT: This is some of the recent video and image content created on Tongal, and they're all great examples of the style we're looking for, but still showcase how much diversity is possible.

  • Bob Ross, Spill the T, and Multitudes - This suite of six videos contains 2 "episodes" for each of 3 concepts, each born out of a previous version of this project. Note how the Bob Ross parodies and the "Spill the T" episodes focus on different elements of the Employee Benefits programs, while "Multitudes" focuses on diversity. Each takes a radically different social-first approach, and each has varying amounts of messaging.
  • All Breeds Welcome - One of these two videos focus on T-Mobile's diversity initiatives, while the other highlights their paid parental leave policies. Each video covers a very specific and narrow topic, as opposed to the videos above, and again takes a unique and creative social-first approach that doesn't feel overly branded or commercial-y.
  • Asian American Heritage Quote Video & Static Image - Look at how vibrant and fluidly energetic this is, and how the artistry shines through in an unexpected way, with a very modern feel.
  • Benefits & Sustainability Video & Static Image - This is a good example of how a mixed media / motion graphic approach can bring the same kind of electric energy, showcasing some abstract artistry in its design elements to make the image feel lively without being cluttered.
  • Employee Man on the Street - These four videos are a part of an ongoing series that explores what some of the current T-Mobile employees personalities and their favorite parts of working at T-Mobile. The last video is at the T-Mobile Pride Parade in Seattle that occurs every year and allows their employees to come together to celebrate who they are.
  • To see even more T-Mobile personality, make sure to check out their Careers Instagram!

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • PROOF-OF-CONCEPT ARTWORK (Optional): If you want, you may create a proof of concept showing how you'd approach design if greenlit. Upload an image of your Artwork in either PNG or JPG format.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from the Sponsor.

  •  TREATMENT  This project requires treatment approval. The treatment should describe how you plan to execute the video and how you plan to bring the storytelling to life visually. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your treatment and ask you to submit a new version. There may be up to multiple rounds of feedback until a treatment is approved by the Sponsor.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Tongal supports inclusivity in all of our productions and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback. Check out our Filmmaker Resource Portal to access helpful post-production resources like Text-Safe Guides for different platforms, Project File Organization Tutorial, Export Presets, and Captioning services.

STOCK FOOTAGE: Tongal has partnered with the stock footage library STORYBLOCKS, which can be used to source video clips, photography, and After Effects templates for your video submission to this project. Video or photo content from Storyblocks is available at no charge, solely for incorporation into submissions on this project, and content will not require a separate Release Form. If identifiable people or intellectual property appears in a video clip or photo, you may only utilize assets that are clearly marked “Model released: Yes” or “Property release: Yes” on the clip description pages. You may not use any audio.

If you intend to use Storyblocks, inform your Tongal producer beforehand, and an account will be created for you to access the library and its features. Once your video submissions are approved by the Sponsor, you must provide a complete list of all Storyblocks content that you used via our template HERE.
