Produce a series of ten playful, eye-catching animated GIPHY stickers for the Tongal and LEGO World Builder platforms.

Tongal and LEGO World Builder are joining forces once again, this time to produce a series of ten animated GIPHY stickers (five for each platform) that can be shared and used anywhere GIPHY stickers are available. Each set of stickers is intended to reflect the personality, aesthetic, and community "flavor" of our two respective platforms.

Tongal is a global platform that connects filmmakers, editors, animators, designers, and all-around Creators to opportunities to work with major brands and studio networks to create content for every screen... though we guess you probably know that, right? LEGO World Builder is a collaborative storytelling platform designed specifically for LEGO Fans and Creators – writers to brick builders – to work together on original, LEGO-inspired stories and worlds for potential development by the LEGO Group. To learn more about the LEGO World Builder community and its association with Tongal, check out this FAQ.

Feel free to get creative with how you represent each community in your design concepts! We recommend creating and including up to two proof-of-concept stickers for each platform in your pitch treatment. These can be rough-sketched concepts done in line art to help us get a sense of your style and creative direction.

Check out more information in Background, including reference images for Tongal's previous GIPHY stickers. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

REFERENCE VIDEOS AND IMAGES FOR TONGAL STICKERS:

  • For inspiration, we'd encourage you to check out Tongal's past GIPHY stickers here.
  • In addition to incorporating the specified text into each sticker, we'd like to see you incorporate imagery that will resonate with Creators (for example, our "Sound On" giraffe) - have fun with it!
  • We'd like at least one of the stickers to include a lightning bolt.
  • We'd like to see instances of Tongal blue and/or purple in each sticker, but they don't need to be the main colors in each asset.

REFERENCE VIDEOS AND IMAGES FOR LEGO WORLD BUILDER STICKERS:

  • We'd like to create a sticker inspired by our World Builder mascot, Orbit. We've attached vectorized artwork of Orbit in the Assets tab.
  • We'd like to create a sticker that captures the creativity of MOC builders (people who create their own custom builds without LEGO instructions) by showing bricks coming together to form a unique object, like this adorable vintage car. You can also pay homage to the LDD software MOC-builders use to make their digital MOCs, which is featured in the video.
  • We'd like to create a GIPHY sticker that is a nod toward storytellers and writers in our community, featuring a minifig hand and writing utensil. Inspiration here.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Tongal supports inclusivity in all of our productions and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec in order to submit final payment. You are responsible for the costs associated the hard drive and shipping.
