We're looking to produce relatable and engaging customer testimonial live-action TrueView videos for Purple to drive awareness and get viewers to invest in their sleep.

** Project Update**

We are extending the pitch window for this project and have adjusted the timeline accordingly.

The goal of this project is to produce a suite of North America based customer testimonial live-action TrueView videos for Purple to drive awareness of their science-backed family of products. Your videos should inspire viewers to invest in their sleep and comfort by purchasing Purple mattresses and Purple accessories (pillows, sheets, cushions, etc).

Purple products are engineered for comfort using the patented Purple Grid, which allows for temperature-neutral airflow and has over 1800 pressure relieving cells that instantly respond, unlike hot memory foam. They are also temperature neutral, with the additional benefits of being hypoallergenic, 100% made in America, and long-lasting.

This project is as much about casting as it is about producing good video content. We’re looking to feature three relatable stories of interesting people and want to know how getting good sleep is an important part of their lives. Whether they’re an athlete, vet, or mom, we’d want to see how Purple products have made a difference in their lives.

DELIVERABLES: Your suite of videos will include twelve total video assets:

  • One :60-90 Hero Video (16x9)
  • Three :60-:90 Alternate Versions of the Hero Video (16x9)*
  • Four :30 cutdowns (16x9), one for each version
  • Four :15 cutdowns (16x9), one for each version
  • You MUST also send a hard drive of ALL RAW FOOTAGE and project files upon final delivery.

*Alternate variations will involve the same characters, locations, and script, and will mostly involve small changes that can be handled in post-production, including changes to CTAs, end-card designs, on-screen text copy, and other minor edits. Additionally, depending on where the creative lands, a version may include a slight variation to the script. This will be decided between the selected producer and client during scripting.

TIMELINE: This timeline moves FAST. You will be expected to go into production over the Thanksgiving Holiday and finalize the first suite of videos over the Christmas Holiday. For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE: YouTube. For YouTube TrueView for action best practices please click here.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

  • Millennials, Gen x, and Boomers skewing female with higher household incomes
  • 30 - 45 age is ideal
  • The focus should be on people who currently do not have a purple mattress or other purple products like sheets, pillows, and cushions.

TONE:

  • Engaging, relatable, and shows the value of the product.
  • While humor could be a good way to capture the audience's attention, it should not lessen the great technology behind Purple products. Previous spots had a good amount of sophomoric humor which resonated strongly with the younger audience, however, more mature women (who dominate the category’s decision making power) would skip the ads more frequently.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • You must capture the viewer's attention in the first 5 seconds of the video.
  • Your videos must show the Purple Solution - Purple accessories such as sheets and pillows that complement the mattress.
  • Your videos should include a shot featuring the logo on the mattress.
  • Consistent branding throughout the video is needed via watermark throughout the video and showing the logo on the products when possible.
  • Your video should include an unboxing moment if possible.
  • Your video should include a segment showing the science behind Purple products (the brand may share an already created CGI asset or you may create your own).
  • Your videos should feature a Queen-sized bed.
  • Please avoid direct claims of pain reduction, however, testimonials can address pressure relief in ways that are authoritative.
  • Please avoid mentioning competition by name.
  • Please submit one testimonial per pitch.

PRODUCT: Product will be provided to Pitch winners and you'll be able to keep the product sent over. Please keep in mind it takes about 1 week to receive the product.

Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, so if you're shooting any live-action, please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We’re working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and our advice here is to make sure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

We spend a third of our lives sleeping, Purple helps make it great sleep.

Purple combines comfort with science to make sleep and sit products for everyday life. It's the world’s first comfort tech company backed by science. Featuring the Purple Grid, Purple products are the next evolution of comfort tech with many advantages beyond the capabilities of memory foam.

Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback.
