Using existing footage, help Motherhood Maternity launch their TikTok channel and celebrate National Breastfeeding Awareness Month with engaging and informative :15–:45 videos that answer top breastfeeding and lactation questions for moms.

Every August, Motherhood Maternity celebrates all things baby-feeding for National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. This year, in addition to celebrating, they also want to address some of the biggest questions that come with lactation and breastfeeding, especially for brand-new moms or moms new to breastfeeding, like: how do I know if I'm producing enough milk? How can I make breastfeeding more comfortable for me and my baby? What kind of side effects should I expect? And what the heck is a nipple shield?

Luckily, last year Motherhood Maternity proposed all of these questions and more to Jennifer Ritchie, an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, author, and full-time working mom. A professional breastfeeding specialist trained in everything from latching issues to painful nursing, and low milk production to induced lactation, Jennifer has helped thousands of new mothers successfully feed their babies through community-based and long-term support. In other words, Jennifer knows her stuff when it comes to lactation, and helping moms is her mission.

Motherhood Maternity is looking for a Tongal editor to pull key answers around top breastfeeding and lactation questions from last year's interview with Jennifer and create six :15–:45 vertical videos for TikTok. Your videos should be direct and straightforward, and should present a creative but app-native or organic solution to a few challenges the original source video poses – namely, converting 16x9 footage to 9x16; making the content as engaging as Jennifer's answers are informative; and obscuring the Ron Jon surfboard logo in the background with a simple graphic the Motherhood Maternity team can overlay text onto in-app when they upload.

For the purposes of your pitch, we've included a folder of assets for you to use to create a proof-of-concept to show the Sponsor how you'd approach the mini-series. We've also listed out some of the top questions answered in the interview in the Executional Mandatories section. Each of your six videos should answer one of these questions.

For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

DELIVERABLES: There are six total video assets:

  • Six :15–:45 Q+A-style vertical videos (9x16)

TIMELINE: This project has an expedited timeline. For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE: Motherhood Maternity's TikTok. Please review the platform best practices page.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Mothers, parents, and mothers-to-be.

TONE: Informative, educational, helpful, sincere, engaging.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • For the purposes of your Pitch, we are including a folder of assets that you can use to put together a :10–:15 proof-of-concept video edit to demonstrate your creative approach. Your proof-of-concept should demonstrate how the final asset will look, by showing some of TikTok's in-app text, graphics, etc.
  • Do not include footage of the interviewer in your videos, just Jennifer Ritchie's responses. In-app text will be used to provide context to Jennifer's answers.
  • Each of your six videos should focus on one question and answer and be clear, concise, and informative. Your videos can be up to :60, but the sweet spot for user retention for this type of content would be in the :15–:45 range, and we'd recommend sticking as close to that as possible.
  • Each of your six videos should answer one of these questions:
    • What can a brand-new mom expect when beginning to breastfeed?
    • What are the possible physical side effects?
    • What is the biggest challenge most mothers experience when breastfeeding?
    • Advice for breastfeeding in public?
    • How do you know if you have a good latch vs. a bad latch, and how do you fix it?
    • What types of physical issues can contribute to a bad latch?
    • Why are some women or babies unable to breastfeed long-term...or at all?
    • How to deal with inadequate weight gain contributing to low supply?
    • Why do clog ducts happen, how can you resolve them, and when are they a sign of mastitis?
  • Your videos should not include any baked-in text or music, but should find a way to obscure the Ron Jon surfboard logo without distracting from Jennifer's answers.

OPEN BID:

  • This is an open bid project, so you will get to set your own budget proposal, up to $3,000.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

Real Mothers. Real Stories. Real Life. That's Motherhood Maternity's ethos, and since 1982, they've had mamas' backs (and bumps) when it comes to what to wear, from belly to baby and beyond. And when it comes to breastfeeding, Motherhood Maternity believes that all boobs are good boobs; all boobs are created equal; and all food is good food. So you do you, mama.
