Create fresh and fun looping holiday videos revolving around automotive maintenance to celebrate Leap Day and St. Patrick's Day for Advance Auto Parts.

Whether your mind is filled with four leaf clovers or... well... leaping, it's time to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Leap Year with auto parts and holiday symbolism. True, not a lot of people associate these holidays with auto part stores, but we're looking to do just that, with some unexpected visual concepts that can make that connection through a suite of short social videos for your favorite automotive retailer, Advance Auto Parts. We need one creator to help celebrate even the smaller holidays with fun moments in these engaging, automotive-themed videos.

The goal of this project is to create a loopable :10-:20 social video for three upcoming holidays: Leap Day and St. Patrick's Day. For St. Patrick's Day, Advance is looking for a concept that will have their Advance Auto Part's branded bucket, as part of their wash’n’wax bundle, being used as a "pot of gold," so there's a bit of creative guidance that you can start with. For the other holiday though, Advance wants original creative ideas that aren't overly product-focused, but that nod to automotive maintenance.

We want to grab attention with something fun, unexpected, unusual, and maybe even a little quirky. We're primarily expecting to see animated executions, but Advance is open to stop motion or live action, or even a suite that mixes formats. You can also use live-action photos, which can provided by Advance during pre-production, and incorporate motion graphics or other design elements to exemplify the automotive or holiday themes of the asset. HERE is one example that shows a clean, simple way to incorporate both photos with graphic design for a dynamic social piece, and be sure to check out their Instagram for the ideal look and tone.

Creatively, think about what Advance and luck have in common, or what people might associate with both; they both keep us going and are always there for us when we need them most. Or maybe consider how Leap Day only occurs every 4 years, and how that's about how often you need to change your car battery, thanks to the DieHard batteries sold at Advance or how this is an extra day to stop by your local AAP store.

Since this is moving fairly quickly, we also suggest that you share a proof of concept video as part of your submission. For any other questions or project updates, check out the Project Forum.

Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and project team.

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.

To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.
