After graduating SFSUs Cinema Program in 2005, Michael moved to Japan. Michael worked as an English teacher and became a translator for film/commercial production. Michael moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to pursue a career in filmmaking. Starting at Doggicam Systems, a highly-specialized camera equipment house utilized for high-end commercial/feature films, Michael had the opportunity to work along side the industry’s top DPs in both feature films and commercials. In 2013 Michael took a job as a full time Producer/Director with the award-winning production company, Downtown Reel ( www.downtownreel.com ). There, Michael directed commercials for both the American and Japanese market. Michael now works as a freelance commercial director focusing on sports/lifestyle and documentary genres. Michael approaches each subject with an open mind and let's them inspire the visual aesthetic for each film. This allows for the subject's voice to be heard in a unique and honest way.
