Would love to hear thoughts or suggestions from the community about the different kinds of contests they'd like to see.

More writing/concept based stuff as opposed to straight video creation?

I would like to see a video contest that will not limit you to the 'video idea winner's limitations'... Throw out a sponsor’s name and let everyone go with it. Make a vid and see what happens. The $$$ prize is cool for the idea, but maybe the extra cash that isn't awarded for the "idea" winner could be spread out across the video winners, predictors and most viewed. I do believe you will see a wide range of quality and ideology. Possibly if the sponsor liked a concept and it won, but didn't want to use that particular video, a $$$ prize could be awarded for the "idea" of the video but not the video used. That way the sponsor could use the idea of the video to use to make a commercial of their own. Credit of course to the idea owner. Man that sounds like a hypocritical concept, but one I would understand if I were a sponsor looking for a video ad. Pretty much a reverse concept.

@ Ed - the Camel ammo contest had no concept or idea phase and a few others haven't as well.
@ Mark Burrell - straight graphic design contests? Print ads and banners and such? Maybe some animation specific contests as well? I love is so far and love the fact that you're asking for input. Thanks for the promptness I've felt so far and thanks for letting the input matter.

What makes Tongal unique is the different phases of the contests as opposed to straight video contests. There are a ton of video contest sites out there, but I haven't seen any with the "Pitch/Idea", "Concept", "Video", "Prediction" & "Most Viewed" phases. That opens up opportunities to creative people who don't have the production equipment or the time to create videos. I would like to see the contests continue to use all of these phases.
