This probably seems like a very naive question, but I'm new to the site and trying to figure it out. I'm a writer/performer with lots of creative pitch ideas, but no directing experience and none in my future. Is there a place for my ideas on Tongal, even though I'm not a filmmaker? As for past work, I can submit my acting reel, but I'm fairly certain that's not what you seek...:)

Hi Laura
There is absolutely a place for you on Tongal. Projects are generally broken up into three phases, idea, pitch, and video. Any project that is currently in the "idea" phase you can submit to and are in no way required to make a video.

Sincerely,
Patrick R.

hi. is it there a good reason for some projects be restricted to US residents? Shame! in my opinion takes value away from the Tongal spirit! :(

The brand makes that determination, hence the variation.

Hi, I'm also new and have a similar question. I have many ideas and have lots of pitch winning experience...but I am not a film-maker either...so does that mean I can't pitch? As it says an idea can be followed up by another creator and filmed, but can I pitch - or do I need to execute my pitch?

People who pitch must be filmmakers capable of translating their vision to video. Pitch winners are obligated to make videos. One alternative is to team-up with a filmmaker and pitch as a team.

I agree with Laura, I am not a filmmaker, but I should not be left out of the pitch stage. I can write a pitch with just as much vision as any filmmaker. Tongal should think about letting anyone write pitches because everyone may not want to create a video or have that experince. I love Tongal :)

Laura, If you can see a commercial in your minds eye and it's a cool idea, submit it to the "idea" phase. If you get awarded ($$) in the idea phase AND your idea is the basis for the winning video, you get whatever % for the prize amount listed.
So, 5% of a $50,000 video from your idea= $2,500!

@Alessandro Machi
I believe it's the amount that's left over after idea and pitch phase payouts....
