So I had two submissions selected as finalists for a recent concept project, but other submissions I made for the same contest were rated higher than my finalist ones. Does anyone have any insight into why that might be? I thought it might be helpful to know so I can make improvements in the future.

Hi Melissa, here's a helpful FAQ on what being a finalist means. Basically, it means your submission(s) made it into the final round of client deliberations and was seriously considered by our judges. The number of finalists vary from project to project, but on average, we see between 7-10 finalists for pitch projects and 10-12 finalists for ideation projects. Your concept can become a finalist even if it was rated lower than other concepts you submitted. Ratings help the sponsor organize their top concepts for discussion, but do not necessarily determine the final selections. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!
