HI Guys,
I've been a tongal member for 5-6 years with 73 submissions with good ones, but no winning ones yet... I opened my email today and I saw the heading on one which was "Winners Announced" and I noticed that it was from Tongal. I was getting a bit excited when I saw the email... By the way, this is the first time that I've received a "Winners Announced" email from Tongal. That's one of the reasons that I was getting excited about it. So interested, that I asked my daughter to open it...We got to the list of winners and my submission wasn't in the list.

Is this a new process?
Who receives this email?

I'm back to normal now and looking forward to a current evaluation process and I'll continue to submit more ideas.

TY
Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for posting! We haven't made any recent updates to our messaging system, but I can definitely help explain the process. When winners are announced on a project page, we send out an email to the participants with the subject line “Winners Announced”. The email will have a direct link to the tab where the selected Ideators or Filmmakers have been posted. Project winners receive a separate email letting them know they've been selected and next steps. Tongalers who are unsubscribed from our emails through their account settings will not receive either of these emails. If you're subscribed and continue to not receive these types of notifications, please reach out to us at info@tongal.com and we can help you out.

Hi Dave, though pretty spot on overall, I just want to add a quick amendment to Kyle's response. Unsubscribing from e-mails from your Tongal account will also unsubscribe you from winner's emails.

If you're a winner there will usually be another email that shows up at the exact same time letting you know your submission was selected. There's also a third "Finalist Email" that gets sent out when the project winners are announced. That doesn't mean you're currently a finalist, it means you were in the top 1-5% of submissions but the brand decided to choose a different winning idea. You can always set up your email settings to unsubscribe from the project updates, that way you'll only get an email when you're a winner. The notifications are only important if you're planning to submit a pitch even if your idea doesn't win. Sometimes the projects take longer to judge so it's nice to get an email letting you know it's time to work on your pitches. Other than that, the Winner Announcement email takes a back seat to the actual "Congratulations, Your Submission (title) has received an award"
