I'm new to Tongal but I'm confused. Why do I want to share my idea for a few hundred dollars. Don't I want to keep my idea to myself so I can pitch it?

Why would I want to give my great idea to someone who, potentially, can take my idea and shoot a slightly more polished video. I get a few hundred and they can make thousands? Am I missing something?

You can pitch your own idea and make your own video. Also, winning ideas generally get a 5% residual if their idea is used for a winning video. Or, you can just keep your great idea to yourself.

Thanks for the info! So you can pitch your idea even if it was not submitted and picked in the idea phase?

During the PITCH phase, you'll be expanding on one of the winning IDEAS from the previous round. If you want to produce a Video that isn't based on one of the winning Ideas, you'll need to submit it as a WILDCARD.

@Ingrid V.
OK, so just to be sure...you CAN NOT pitch an idea that was not a winner in the IDEA phase? So if I want to pitch my IDEA, I MUST share it in the IDEA phase?

Yes, a Pitch must be based on one of the winning Ideas. If you want to submit an Idea, you would do so in the Idea round of a project. If you want to Pitch a Video, you would do so in the Pitch round and it must be based on a winning Idea.

If you want to submit a Video that is not based on a winning Idea, that would be a Wildcard.

New guy ?'S
1.To Pitch and an Idea are not the same?
2. When Pitching (as a video maker) do I submit as a script, say as a Warner Bros, outline
3.It asks for previous work. Can this be my reel? As I have not done any work over here yet.
4.Must I make a vid of myself stating why or how to do it?

Ref#4 below I am under the impression that the Brand's/ want a video of me explaining how I am going to get my video done? Why are there only 300 characters avail when trying to get some details? On a Forum. It leaves no room for Background or a clear explanation of a question?
