Last year, Tongal and iHeartRadio joined forces to discover The Next Great Podcast. Nearly 1,800 ideas were submitted and 11 finalists received funding to produce their pilots. Then, fans voted for one incredible podcast to get the green light for a full season on The iHeartPodcast Network. But why take it from us when you could hear from the 2020 Next Great Podcast Creators themselves?

Now, the search for The Next Great Podcast is officially back and we want you to thrill us, surprise us, and get us hopelessly hooked on your new series. The Next Great Podcast can be any genre, any format... and it should be what YOU want to hear in the world.


What's the process?

  • You can pitch us your podcast here through noon PT on September 17, 2021.
  • Pitches will be evaluated by a panel of podcast luminaries, led by head judge Dan Patrick.
  • 10 semi-finalists will each receive $1,000 to produce a 10-minute pilot and fans all over the globe will vote for their favorite.
  • ONE show will be named The Next Great Podcast 2021, and its Creator will be interviewed by legendary broadcaster Dan Patrick and work closely with iHeartRadio to develop their series for The iHeartPodcast Network.
