Help JOHNSON’S® create a Video for social media that highlights the importance of Save the Children’s early childhood development (ECD) programs.
Your mother’s voice. Your father’s smile. Your teddy bear’s soft fur. The scent of baby shampoo in a warm bath. Your grandmother’s laugh as she reads you a bedtime story. These hallmark first memories of early childhood are more than just sentimental reminders of our first years of life; they’re crucial symbols of early childhood sensory development. Stimulating a baby’s senses from ages 0-3 helps a growing baby’s brain form critical connections that set the foundation for future healthy development. In fact, by age three, 85% of a baby’s brain is developed – his or her future already set in motion often before he or she can read, walk, or talk.
Having the time and resources to raise a healthy baby is difficult under any circumstances, but for 16 million children living in poverty in America, the odds are truly stacked against them from birth. Too often, these kids enter kindergarten without the tools necessary to keep pace with their more fortunate peers, a disadvantage no child asks for or deserves. Children who receive the proper brain and sensory stimulation from ages 0-3 are more likely to finish school, plan their families, rise above the poverty line, and have a more meaningful and productive impact on society – thereby giving the next generation of children a better shot at the future, too. However, children who lack proper early childhood development are more likely than their peers to repeat grades, drop out of school, and fail to break out of poverty themselves.
JOHNSON’S® is partnering with Save the Children to change that through their Early Childhood Development program, a cause near and dear our hearts. Now, JOHNSON’S® and Save the Children are turning to the Tongal community to spread the word about the importance that every baby gets a healthy, happy start to life with a 60-90 second Video that extols the virtues of early childhood development and Save the Children and encourages viewers to help give every child a fair shot at the future.
Using a combination of existing footage from the sponsor (see links & more details at the bottom of this section) and your own original content, create a 60-90 second Video with a 15-second cut down that helps promote awareness and inspires a social movements and gets the word out on the importance of giving every child a healthy, happy start.
While you are welcome to use existing footage as provided below, the sponsor wants to minimize the usage of their existing footage. You will have access to it but their hope is that you incorporate some of your own high-quality, poignant footage. Your Pitch should include how you will weave the story together using existing provided footage and your own new footage
You do not need to mention any specific JOHNSON’S® products in your Video; instead, your Video should focus on the message of the benefits of early childhood development and inspire people to signal boost Save the Children.
NOTE: The 60-90 second Video and 15-second cutdown are both due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.
