Create a funny, cleverly quirky, and shareable video to show how Ricola’s new Revitalizing Herb Drops help you get a little boost when you are sick or not feeling well.

When you’re feeling under the weather, the last thing you want to do is go to work. But so often, we push on. We drag our groggy heads to the office, just hoping to make it through the day.

But what’s this? A team of energetic people in bright neon yellow jump suits, handing out bright neon yellow herb drops? That’s right. The Ricola Revitalizing Team is here to give your office a boost! And their help doesn’t end with the Revitalizing Vending Machine in the lobby...

…They have graciously offered to take some work off your plate for the day - run a few meetings for you, fix the copy machine, do your timesheet. And that messy desk? Consider it cleaned! All while handing out Revitalizing Drops. When you need a cure for your sick days, who you going to call? RICOLAAAA!

The goal of this project is to create Two Videos (one funny and shareable 30 second video for YouTube pre-roll and one full length 60-90 second video for the Ricola microsite), based on the above concept, to help support the launch of Ricola’s new Revitalizing Herb Drops this cold and flu season. See the new packaging under the Assets Tab, or purchase them at any retailer to try out their refreshing Lemon Zest flavor, effervescent center, and Vitamin B to help restore energy.

Feel free to take some creative liberties here. Play with Office Space tropes and uniquely relatable corporate moments, make your characters real characters, punch up the tragi-comedy of being stuck at work when you’re sick vs. being rescued by [insert your more clever name of merry men than ‘The Ricola Revitalizing Team’] in [something more fashionably eye-catching than a yellow jumpsuit]. Does our hero go off and have a raging sick day? They’re open to seeing that too!

Your quirky and entertaining Video should bring the true Ricola brand personality to life, drive home the “Get a Little Boost” messaging, and engage their consumer (Women 25-54) by getting them excited to try new Revitalizing Herb Drops. So go ahead, and flesh out the funniest script or treatment, submit inspired moodboards that include wardrobe shots, and explain your vision for how you could really make this puppy sing!

Important Notes:

  • The Sponsor will need to approve wardrobe, especially the costumes worn by the Revitalizing Team, prior to filming. DO NOT FEEL THE NEED TO STICK TO THE DESCRIBED “YELLOW JUMP SUITS”. THAT WAS PURELY CONCEPTUAL, BUT OPEN TO INTERPRETATION TO ENSURE BEST, MOST MEMORABLE RESULTS.
  • The colors in the product packaging should inform your production design. Lean on YELLOW and GREEN visual cues, especially once the Revitalizing Team enters your story.
  • (Off the record: Because these videos need to appeal to Women Ages 25-54, it might not hurt to cast a cute guy somewhere in there!)

--Key Marketing Messages:

  • “Get a Little Boost” with Revitalizing
  • Ricola Revitalizing helps provide that little boost when you need it the most (i.e. sick at work!)
  • Each drop contains Chruterchraft (Ricola’s magic herb blend) as well as an effervescent, powder-filled center AND Vitamin B to help restore energy. When making this claim, please include the following language in a super: THIS STATEMENT HAS NOT BEEN EVALUATED BY THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT INTENDED TO DIAGNOSE, TREAT, CURE OR PREVENT ANY DISEASE.
  • The overall creative campaign is “The Secret is Chrüterchraft” (Chrüterchraft is the secret herb blend inside every drop). The focus should be Get a Little Boost, but the Sponsor would be open to seeing Chrüterchraft messaging subtlety incorporated.
  • This creative was developed out of the insight that “Of course, you don’t feel like yourself when you’re sick. BUT WHAT IF JUST A LITTLE BOOST WAS ALL YOU NEEDED TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD TO BOTH PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL RECOVERY.”

--Target Audience:

  • Women 25-54
  • They care about their health and prefer to use products made from natural or organic ingredients.  They are proactive in their health and wellness to prevent themselves from getting sick.

--Executional Mandatories:

  • DO show the product and packaging in your Video. (The Sponsor will provide samples to the Pitch winners.)
  • DO create your own bumper. (The Sponsor will give guidance on the Call to Action.)
  • DON’T correlate Revitalizing Drops with any known energy supplement (i.e. no comparison to Red Bull or 5 Hour Energy); The Vitamin B helps to provide a natural energy boost – this is not a caffeine product.

--Tone:

  • Funny, cleverly quirky, but not too over-the-top (Your Revitalizing Team should be awesome, not annoying). Warm, caring, educational, and entertaining. Emotional, unique, and shareable. (Think The Tonight Show Jimmy Fallon, not Jim Carrey circa The Mask)

--Exposure:

  • Intended for use in Video Advertising (Pre-Roll), YouTube Ads, Facebook Ads, Promoted Tweets, Social sharing, Ricola campaign website, YouTube channel, Vimeo page, and Ricola social properties.

--Brand Persona:

  • Ricola is… A caring and funny friend that makes me feel better.

--Product:

  • Ricola Revitalizing Herb Drops are currently available for purchase in retailers like, Walmart, Target, CVS and Rite-Aid. Sponsor will send product to the two Pitch winners.

This Project will be worth a total of $32,500 and consists of Two Phases: a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on the Project Objective:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • Wardrobe (REQUIRED): What kind of quirky yellow and green costumes will your Revitalizing Team be wearing?

  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • Treatment (Optional): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video.

  • Storyboards (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across.

  • Headshots/Casting Boards (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The TWO most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $4,000 to help create the Video.  Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $7,500, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $15,000 First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 2: VIDEO – The TWO winners from the Pitch Phase will each create one 60-90 second Video and one 30 second Video based upon their winning Pitch. The Judges will score the winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the TWO Pitch winners will receive prizes.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $15,000 and 2nd place $7,500

--Music:  Tongal has partnered with four premiere music providers: Audiosocket, Killer Tracks, Epidemic Sound and Music Dealers. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. You may use up to THREE total tracks per Video submission, and they can come from any of the four providers listed above. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.

--Referral: Any Tongal member who refers one of the winning Video creators in this Project using the Tongal “Invite Friends” functionality will receive a referral fee equal to 5% of the amount won. That’s a potential $875 in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project! Check out more about our Referral Program in FAQ.
