Do you remember the last time you shined? Was it that moment when you crossed the finish line at the end of your first marathon? Was it when you finally threw away your scale? Was it when you realized that your self-esteem could not be measured by a number? Now take that moment and relive it in your mind. What was it that made you your best self?
Discovered in 1945, Pantene Pro-V is one of the leading hair care brands that continues to inspire women around the world. Pantene believes that healthy is beautiful, and when you feel beautiful, you shine from the inside out.
Now Pantene is looking for your Ideas, Pitches and Videos about being the best, healthiest version of yourself. Pantene is seeking authentic, emotional stories from real women about how and when they shine as their most authentic self. So look within and share with us your shining moments, your shining self.
NOTE: In contrast to the Pantene Pro-V “New Hair, New You” Project, this “Hair So Healthy, You Shine” Project is focused on how healthy hair makes you feel. It’s not about getting a new ‘do. It’s about how healthy hair is a part of a healthy woman’s day-to-day life. Show us real, dynamic women who feel healthy, strong, powerful and confident. Of course, shiny hair doesn’t hurt either…
The primary goal of this project is to produce an authentic and shareable 30 - 60 second Video that connects with a woman’s emotional need to shine as her healthiest self. Your video should communicate that Pantene gives you the healthy hair that helps you shine and discover your best self.
-- Thought Starters: Who am I? Who do I aspire do be? What stories can I tell? How do I live authentically in my life? In my work? What makes me feel healthy? Physically healthy? Mentally healthy? Emotionally healthy? What do I do for myself? What do I do for others? How do my relationships make me a healthier, more beautiful person? Who are the women I admire? What is my favorite quality about myself? What do I value? When did I overcome vulnerability? When did I achieve something great? When did I find meaning in my life? How can we change the world?
-- Casting Note: It is extremely important for the women in your video to have healthy, shiny, beautiful hair.
-- Key Marketing Messages:
• Pantene gives you hair so healthy, you shine.
• Pantene has been formulating products to make your hair healthier for 70 years.
• Pantene is a brand that wants you to shine & cares about your hair’s health.
-- Target Audience: Hair involved women ages 18-39, on the more digitally saavy side, although Videos should have a universal message for all women.
-- Executional Mandatories: Actors in your video must have healthy, shiny, beautiful hair.
-- Tone: Hopeful, inspirational, nostalgic, emotional, meaningful, aspirational, and optimistic.
-- Exposure: Intended for digital use on Pantene’s social channels. Potential use above the line if the content is extremely engaging. High likelihood of using on retailer websites to drive purchase intent.
This project will be worth a total of $40,000 and consists of three phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for the Pantene “Hair So Healthy, You Shine” Video Project in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $500 each and a 5% one-time residual payment, if the winning Video is based on their Idea. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $1,000, the 2nd place Video $500, the 3rd place Video $300- see Video Phase Payout details below.)
PHASE 2: PITCH – Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) based on a winning Idea convincing the sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video using:
• Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less summarizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.
• Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work, showreel, etc.
• Images (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, scripts, casting notes, anything that helps get your point across.
• Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Test video, animatics, etc. are welcome.
The TWO most compelling Pitches will be selected and will each receive $1,000 to help create their Video. The winner (upon submitting their Winner's Affidavit and IP Assignment) will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you complete the Video required, you will win (at minimum) an additional $6,000 (subject to deduction for a one-time 5% residual payment). For an example of an effective pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch. All Pitches will remain private until after the winners of the Video Phase are announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 3: VIDEO – The TWO winners from the Pitch Phase will each create a 30 - 60 second video based upon their winning Pitch and all other creators are invited to enter a “Wildcard” (What Is a Wildcard?) submission that is not based on any winning material from the previous phases. The Judges will score all Wildcard submissions and the ONE (1) highest scoring Wildcard Video and the TWO (2) winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners will be scored to determine the standings for the Video Phase. Remember, the TWO (2) Pitch winners, along with ONE (1) non-Pitch Video creator, will receive prizes.
-- Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $20,000, 2nd place $10,000, 3rd place $6,000 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to Idea winners, as applicable).
-- Music: Killer Tracks is a leading provider of production music for use in film, television, advertising and interactive media. Killer Tracks’ music will be available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into official Submissions to this Project. No other use is permitted. You may only use up to THREE Killer Tracks maximum as part of your video Submission.
