You may remember this project was a Mystery Sponsor Ideation! Well here’s the reveal: It’s Post Great Grains! Post Great Grains needs Videos that stand out from the crowd and are unlike anything you’ve ever seen before on TV.

What you’ll need to know:

  • Post Great Grains is made from real, good-for-you foods – like fruits, nuts, seeds, and grains.
  • It’s a cereal for real women: women who want substance over fad, who make healthy choices and know they don’t need to deprive themselves. Bland flakes are not enough, they want nutrition they can see.
  • Eating healthy is a daily challenge and these women crave a brand that tells it to them straight. They want a cereal that provides real nutrition they can enjoy. It’s obvious by looking in the bowl, and it’s obvious in the way they feel.
  • Make a brilliant, unexpected and left-of-center Video to raise awareness for Post Great Grains and bring the “I Am Nutrition You Can See” concept to life in a witty and relevant way!

Post Great Grains wants a super-clever and fun 30-60 second Video with a 15-second cutdown that stands out from the crowd and raises awareness about their nutritious cereal among female boomer consumers (avg age: 48). The winning Ideas were sourced from the Mystery Sponsor Ideation, and can be found in the Awards tab.

We want your freshest thinking – don’t be afraid to take chances and tell the story in a new way. They’re not looking for stale commercials you’ve seen on TV. For example, they don’t want videos that show you are what you eat, and they don’t want bland ladies telling you they genuinely care about what they put into their bodies. Boring! Think about a really fun, quirky, eye-catching, bold, character-driven way to tell this story.

Inspiration:

--Key Marketing Messages:

  • Your Video should end with the tagline "Great Grains. Nutrition You Can See."
  • Real ingredients give you real nutrition.
  • When I eat well, I live well! I can accomplish more, maintain balance, eat real food, and look and feel my best.
  • Satiation, not deprivation.
  • If I make it through the day without eating a bag of chips, it’s a good day!
  • Eating healthy is a daily challenge but it is an investment I make in myself.

--Target Audience:  Female boomer (avg age: 48) who embraces where she is in life. She is a “Substance Seeker,” centered and confident in her ability to make her own decisions about what makes her happy and healthy.  She avoids fads (been there, done that) and seeks authenticity (hold the hype, give me the real deal). She takes simple, sensible steps to remain healthy, happy and fit on her own terms.

--Tone: Surprising, joyful, clever, cheeky, witty, quirky, authentic, fresh, meaningful, relevant, bold. Speaks to women who value wellbeing, but don’t take themselves too seriously and who do slip up quite often.

--Exposure:  Intended for use on the Post Great Grains' digital and social channels.

--Executional Mandatories:

  • Avoid anything you’ve seen before!
  • Please show only 1 serving of the food in each bowl, using a plain metal spoon and plain white ceramic bowl.
  • Do not over pour the product.
  • Product can be shown in milk.
  • Please do not show competitive packaging or use competitor brand names. You may choose to demonstrate the "Nutrition You Can See" concept by comparing a competitive brand's more processed cereal flakes, or fruits, nuts, etc. to Post Great Grains, but only if it works organically with your narrative and messaging.
  • Your Video should end with the tagline "Great Grains. Nutrition You Can See."
  • Post Great Grains Raisin, Dates & Pecans should be the hero product. You may also choose to feature Cranberry Almond Crunch, Banana Nut Crunch and Crunchy Pecans. DO NOT feature product in the Protein or Digestive lines.

--Product:

  • Samples will not be provided by the Sponsor, but Post Great Grains can be purchased at Target stores, Wal-Mart stores and most major grocery chains. Find the nearest location to purchase Great Grains here.
  • Be sure to feature Post Great Grains Raisin, Dates & Pecans as the hero. You may also choose to feature Cranberry Almond Crunch, Banana Nut Crunch and Crunchy Pecans. DO NOT feature product in the Protein or Digestive lines.

This Project will be worth a total of $50,000 and consists of 3 Phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. The Idea Phase has already closed and the winning Ideas can be viewed in the Awards tab. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules. This project uses the winning Ideas from the Mystery Sponsor Ideation. See the Awards tab for all winning Ideas.

PHASE 1: IDEA - The Idea Phase has closed and the winning Ideas can be found on the Awards tab.

PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:

  • Based On Idea (REQUIRED): Select the Idea your Pitch is based on from the previous Mystery Sponsor Ideation by choosing an Idea from the Based On drop down.

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • Treatment (Optional): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video.

  • Image (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, casting notes, anything that helps get your point across.

  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The 3 most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $2,000 to help create the Video.  Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $6,500, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $17,000 First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – The 3 winners from the Pitch Phase will each create a 30-60 second Video with a 15-second cutdown based upon their winning Pitch.

All other creators are invited to enter a Wildcard (What Is a Wildcard?) submission that can be based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase or a totally original concept that is not based on any winning material from the Idea Phase.  The Judges will score all Wildcard submissions and the 1 highest scoring Wildcard Videos along with the 3 winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners will be scored to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the 3 Pitch winners, along 1 Wildcard creator, will receive prizes.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $17,000 and 2nd place $10,500 and 3rd place $7,500 and 4th place $6,500  (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Idea winner(s, as applicable).

--Music:  Tongal has partnered with four premiere music providers: Audiosocket, Killer Tracks, Epidemic Sound and Music Dealers. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. You may use up to THREE total tracks per Video submission, and they can come from any of the four providers listed above. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.

That’s a potential $1,700 in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project! Check out more about our Referral Program in FAQ.
