12/15/16 - 01/12/17

Tongalers, we need your help! Tongal is launching our own YouTube channel and we want to program it with and feature YOUR original Series. Submit your Pitch and tell us what you need to bring your YouTube series to life!

Tongal is looking for original programming  to distribute on our YouTube Channel. This is your chance to pitch us the series that you’ve always wanted to create. As you brainstorm your Series Pitch, consider what you and your film buff friends would be excited to watch and share. If your Pitch is one of the five (5) winners, you will have the opportunity to develop and produce the Series based on your winning Pitch in a separate project. The Series will be distributed on Tongal’s YouTube Channel.

This project is not sponsored by YouTube.

Read on to the Project Objectives for more info on what we’re looking for in your Pitches...

The goal of this project is to source five (5) Pitches to develop into original YouTube Series that will live on Tongal’s YouTube Channel. Get creative, have fun, and submit your Pitch! Don’t limit yourself to the examples of what we are looking for - you have a vision and this is your opportunity to produce it! Please also pay attention to the examples of what we are not looking for.

We are looking for: Series that appeal to people who LOVE Watching and/or Creating Films, and Entertainment. This can be anything from  (but not limited to):

  • Series that are focused around the discussion of classic movie scenes, continuity errors, brilliant cinematography, bloopers, “so bad it’s good," high-fashion reviews on clothing used within Movies/TV, great performances, improv, genre benders, having your drunk very opinionated  friend who loves horror films read consumer reviews on G-Rated movies.

  • Docu-style Series: A reality-based series that focuses on a specific real world subject, person, profession, lifestyle, etc.

  • Shows: A series of related productions that do not need to be episodic (but can be).

  • Topical Vlogs: A journalistic video documentation of a person’s thoughts, opinions, and interests on particular topics.

WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR:

Game Shows, Live Streams, How-To videos, Short Films, Features.

A Note on Budget: We want to make sure you have the finances you need to create the best Series possible, but we are also looking to build out Tongal’s YouTube channel. Please consider the most economical way to create the content for the Series you pitch when outlining your budget.

Filmmakers, your Pitches MUST include a Series logline and a Series synopsis. Not mandatory, but we’d love to see your Pitch also include the following:

  • Logline for each episode

  • Synopsis for each episode

If your Pitch is selected, we will work with you through a direct engagement to develop your Series in January 2017. You will be required to submit your budget in your Pitch, and Tongal must approve your production budget before you begin filming.

This project will be worth a total of $5,000 and consist of one (1) Pitch phase. Five (5) Pitches will win prizes: first place $1,000; second place $1,000; third place $1,000; fourth place $1,000; and fifth place $1,000.  If your winning Pitch is selected, we will work with you directly and you will receive additional compensation to create your Series for Tongal’s YouTube Channel. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

Ownership: Please note that, like all other Tongal projects, all rights to your Pitch and Series will become the sole property of Tongal upon submission. However, for this project if your Pitch is not selected as a winner, you will retain all rights to your entry.
