Calling all Ideators!!! We're building a first-of-its-kind, late-night TV sketch show for the Nat Geo WILD TV Channel, and we need an unforgettable name for it.
The Nat Geo WILD channel is currently available in more than 144 million homes globally, and it's known for its wildlife and natural history programming, as well as TV series that celebrate people who dedicate their lives and work to saving animals. Surprisingly though, its distinctive tone is often more unorthodox, cheeky, and subversive than its sister channel, the National Geographic Channel.
Now, Nat Geo WILD is itself going WILD, with a new show PRODUCED ENTIRELY BY THE TONGAL COMMUNITY.
We're already deep into the process, so you might already know what's going on if you've checked out the filmmaker project, or if you're making a video for the Wild Card project (you've still got time!), but this show is missing one major component that anyone can help with: we need an official name for the show.
What is this show? It's a wild mix of video segments from more than 2 dozen different filmmakers, with everything from koala chefs to snobby pigeons, dancing horn worms, and a hapless group of humans that is buried alive...by a pile of fluffy puppies. It's equal parts live-action, animation, and puppetry, and it's even got a dash of motion capture. Even though there's plenty of talking animals, it's not ALL comedy, but it's always a little silly. Think of it like Adult Swim, and how that fits into Cartoon Network: it captures the essence & brand of the network - wildlife, the outdoors, natural history - but it's an alternative programming option for a late-night audience and it lets the network take risks and step out of its comfort zone.
Check out more in the details below!
The goal is pretty simple: come up with a clever, creative, provocative, and unforgettable name for this late-night TV sketch show on the Nat Geo WILD Channel. Can you riff off the project name, "Wild After Dark?" Sure, but that's just the name of a project, so think outside the box. It doesn't have to include anything about "wild" or "animals."
