Pitch for the long-term opportunity to edit weekly YouTube recap videos for USA and their high-octane wrestling show WWE Monday Night RAW, airing live every Monday at 8pm ET.

If it's must see Moments, with must see Superstars, it Must Be Monday! In WWE Monday Night RAW, the stars of professional wrestling square off in the ring and behind the scenes, with huge muscles and oversized personalities, and the most melodramatic of personal and professional feuds. If you're a snappy and dynamic editor (or team) that happens to love WWE, and you're open to the possibility of a long-term, weekly engagement - this is for you. USA is looking for someone to watch each episode of Monday Night RAW live, and then immediately put together a 5-7 minute recap video full of holy-shit-did-that-just-happen highlights.

This project will start off with a "pilot" recap for the episode that airs live on Monday, December 28th @ 8pm ET. USA will provide you with a creative template, including graphics and other assets, in addition to the as-aired broadcast file of the episode. You'll need to flip a cut back to USA with a one day turnaround, potentially tackle a round of notes, and then submit final delivery ASAP.

The idea is that this project will continue immediately in the New Year, with the potential that you'll be delivering recaps on a regular and on-going weekly basis, with the option to continue indefinitely.

For your Pitch submission, we're looking for you to edit a sample recap video, no more than 90 seconds in length, based off the November 11th episode of Monday Night RAW [episode HERE | assets HERE]. As for the format of your sample video, USA is open to a bunch of different approaches, but the key thing we're looking at is your editorial instincts and eye for content, and weaving it into a format. You can do a rundown of the Top 10 RAW moments like this, a "RAW in three minutes" recap like this, or even a more generalized video highlighting a key moment like this.

DELIVERABLES: One 5-7 minute recap video (16x9) for YouTube

TIMELINE:

12/15 - Pitch Phase Closes

12/17 - Editor Selected by USA

12/18 - Recap Template Delivered to Editor

12/28 - WWE RAW episode airs

12/29 - Recap Delivered & Finalized with USA

EXPOSURE: Recap videos will be distributed on USA Network's YouTube channel.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Fans of WWE RAW

TONE: Entertaining, hilarious, exciting, outrageous, unfiltered, rebellious, and wild.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Your sample video should be no more than 90 seconds in length. Since USA is developing the format, what we're looking at is your editorial instincts and eye for good content.
  • Your video should exclude visible third-party logos and IP, including trademarked or copyrighted material on something like posters, hats, shirts, or other clothing.
  • Your video CANNOT use any music from each Superstar's entrance sequence. For the purposes of your sample video, you must use one of Tongal's three premiere music providers: Jingle Punks, Universal Production Music and Epidemic Sound. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge. For the pilot, you'll be required to use USA's music provider Frequency, and we'll provide that information if you are selected.
  • Your video should not use original VO or commentary. You should instead use on-screen text and graphics to contextualize the highlights in your recap.

OPEN BID:

  • Should you move forward beyond the pilot, this will be an open bid project, so you (or your team) will get to submit your own episodic budget up to $2,500 per episode.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid beyond the pilot episode. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your Pitch submission:

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • SAMPLE VIDEO (REQUIRED):  Please submit ONE :30 sample video based on the information provided in the Objectives section utilizing the provided assets.

  • BID (REQUIRED): Should you move forward after the pilot, this will be an open bid project, so you (and/or your team) will get to submit your own episodic budget up to $2,500 per episode.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creator will receive funding. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback.

MUSIC:  You will be required to use the USA-approved music provider Frequency to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from this provider is available only to the Pitch Winners at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. Pitch Winners will be provided with a log-in and access by a Tongal producer once they are selected.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec in order to submit final payment. You are responsible for the costs associated the hard drive and shipping.

  13. The Sponsor will be entitled to reasonable revisions on the finished Videos without providing additional compensation. Remember it's easier to re-edit than re-shoot so try to get as much coverage as possible.

  14. In addition to the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment, greenlit Video creators MUST also provide Talent, Location, Music (or other) Releases for all assets appearing in their Videos, as well as a photograph/headshot OR copy of a photo ID for all On-camera Talent releases. You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec to claim your earnings.

  15. See OFFICIAL RULES for additional contest information, terms and conditions. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between these requirements and the Official Rules, the terms and conditions of these requirements shall prevail.
