Submit your Concepts for how specific brands should be using Virtual Reality to engage with their audiences in a new way.
Virtual Reality is The Future. Bold words, perhaps, but we’re pretty sure that it’s true because we read it on the Internet. And just like all nascent technologies, the world is still admittedly in the early and exploratory stages of what it means to create immersive VR experiences.
There’s speculation about just how far reaching and pervasive it will become, but it’s already doing real work in the real world. Applications for psychiatry, medicine, education, and industrial design are already producing significant results and creating distinct VR disciplines. Naturally we expect that VR will make its way into the world of entertainment…and ultimately ascend to its highest, noblest calling:
…MARKETING!
This is where you come in, forward-thinking Tongalers. We want you to put on your VR headsets (ear-buds will do in a pinch) and imagine a world where, as far as marketing is concerned, Virtual Reality is Reality.
How could a specific brand use VR to engage with their audience in a new way? How can brands make the most of this technology?
Pretend you’re giving a pitch right now. Pretend you’re at the 2015 VR convention speaking to a virtual room full of Marketing VP’s. “What should our brand do with VR???” They’re asking you…so tell em!
OR…feel free to get really focused, and give us VR Concepts that a specific brand can use.
Whichever you choose – general Concepts, or specific, or both: just lean back and visualize – let your creative juices flow!
The goal of this project is to generate Concepts for how brands in general, or how a specific brand, might leverage VR to connect with their audiences in a more meaningful way.
Feel free to read up on VR here. But don’t get too scientific – you don’t have to let current technical limitations be an obstacle to your creativity. Assume a world where the technology for making and viewing VR is pretty much ubiquitous (we think that’s coming real soon).
Give us your greatest Concepts. Think first in terms of what you’d LOVE TO EXPERIENCE – then think about the brand for whom that experience has resonance and meaning. Then try it the other way: think about your favorite brands…what experiences would they bring you if they could?
