Create a Campaign Idea for Under Armour’s Connected Footwear that shows runners the inspiration that can come from a virtual community built by connected fitness.

For many, running is a simple, solitary experience. They wake up at the crack of dawn and sweat it out by themselves without the benefit of a support system or even an accurate method for tracking their progress.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. With Under Armour’s new line of Connected Footwear, you can tap into the power of the world’s smartest running shoes, the world’s largest running community, and personalized coaching to improve your run performance.

Under Armour has assembled the world’s largest digital health, fitness & running community (you may have heard of MapMyRun, Endomondo and MyFitnessPal). Which means when you lace up your running shoes, you’re not just connected to stats – you’re connected to other runners, too.  Under Armour’s Connected Footwear and app act as your very own virtual support system that unlocks individual & united achievement through coaching, accountability & motivation.

Now Under Armour wants to connect with the Tongal community to come up with some honest and exciting Campaign Ideas that communicate the game-changing nature of Connected Footwear. Your Campaign Idea should speak to consumers in an authentic, meaningful way and provide a springboard for compelling stories.

You can learn more about Under Armour’s Connected Fitness platforms by clicking here. Be sure to tell us an appealing and memorable storyline to go along with your Campaign Idea. You may upload a supporting visual asset with your submission as well.

What is a Campaign Idea?

Campaign Ideas are the foundation for a brand’s marketing and articulate the inspirational anchor of the brand. They connect a consumer Insight or universal truth to the brand’s identity. A Campaign Idea should create enough space for numerous creative executions to develop and thrive, and push the brand’s boundaries -- without breaking them. It is the vehicle by which the brand delivers its message across all consumer touch-points. Check out this post for a more thorough explanation.

The goal of this project is to create a Campaign Idea for Under Armour’s Connected Footwear that communicates the benefits & simplicity of running “connected.”

Some of the reasons Runners loved running connected:

  • Motivation: Set your sights on your best self.
  • Preparation: Get geared up in the world’s smartest running shoe.
  • Information: Facts are fuel, so power up.
  • Determination: Goals and groups keep you on track.
  • Perspiration: Sweat, but don’t sweat the metrics – we’ll do the recordkeeping.
  • Relaxation: Smart chip technology helps you avoid burning out.
  • Community:  UA has the largest digital community 190M strong all opting in to getting better

How the product unlocks these benefits:

  • Readiness: Jump Test provides gauge of readiness to run through 6-jump test
  • Speed/Pace:  In app experience during & post run
  • Distance:  In app experience during & post run
  • Shoe Life:  Indicator of miles run to cue shoe replacement at 400 miles
  • Cadence:  Stride rate, used to improve running technique
