If you’re a graphic designer looking to make some extra cash on the side, this project is for you. We’re looking for THREE (3) talented graphic designers to join our first ever Tongal Pixel Pod.

Graphic designers with talent! Whether you’ve been designing for years, or newer to the profession we want to see your application!

We’re looking for graphic designers from around the world, who have a strong stylistic point–of-view yet can also adhere to specific brand guidelines.

Details:

If selected to be part of the Tongal Pixel Pod, you’ll receive $1,000 to be part of an “on-call studio” to help us create amazing, eye-catching design banners. You have until noon PT Friday, July 14 to submit your application.

Here’s an iteration of what a suite of banners could look like.

Keep in mind designers should be:

Typographically Savvy: We’re looking for people who know their way around the grid, and have experience setting type and/or have hand-lettering experience.

Impactful: In addition to knowing your way around type, we’re looking for designers who know how to create visually appealing compositions using pre-determined elements, or elements they created/illustrated themselves.

Well-Executed: Designs should be buttoned up and tight. (No typos, unclipped masks, etc.) Also, in many cases you will need to adhere to brand guidelines and style guides.

Relevant: Designers should be aligned with Tongal’s visual style and be able to work within parameters set forth by Tongal and our partners.

The Fine Print:

• If selected to be part of the Tongal Pixel Pod, you will receive $100 for each banner set (see below) created (in addition to the $1,000). You may be asked to create up to 10 banner sets.
• Banner sets generally include two versions of a graphic (650 x 300 and 640 x 640); however some sets may include up to 7 different variations (by variation we mean different sizes).
• You will be asked to create these banners by Tongal producers who will provide the Sponsor Name, Project Title, and any assets that need to be shown on the banner.
• By "on-call" we don’t mean you’ll have to drop everything you’re doing and rush to finish a banner for us. We’ll make sure you have the bandwidth to do the work before dropping a banner request on you.
• Generally you will have around 24 hours to execute the banners. However, there will be times when the banners are needed sooner. 
• Banners on the Tongal website go through an approval process with our clients, so you may be asked to complete revisions on the banners before we get final sign-off.
• You will be delivering JPGS as well as the design files (Photoshop/ InDesign), for the assets.

Judging Criteria:

Talent: We need to know if you have the chops to pull off awesome and eye-catching banners. Be sure to put your best “link(s)” forward.

Speed: Many of these projects will move FAST so in the text box below tell us about the projects you’ve worked on and the timelines they were completed under.

Reliability: Yes, we may be checking references. Please put down someone you’ve worked with in the past for a design project: contact information, role on the project.

Application Details:

• Text (REQUIRED): In 500 characters or less tell us about the design projects you’ve worked on and the timelines they were completed under.
• Links (REQUIRED): To your previous work. Please specify your role (designer, illustrator, creative director, etc.)
• References (REQUIRED): Please put down someone you’ve worked with in the past for a design project: contact information, role in the project.

Requirements:

1. Unless provided otherwise, all work must be your own original creation and free of any copyrighted material. You shall provide detailed information of your work regarding the source, the creator and background information as requested by Tongal.

2. BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES – SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

3. Submissions cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of the sponsor.

4. Submissions must not portray the sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with the sponsor.

5. By submitting to this project, you acknowledge that your work may become subject to public voting on the Tongal site. Public voting may be used to help the project sponsor determine the final rank order.

6. Limit 1 submission per member.

7. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or older to enter.
