Share a Story of a nurse who assisted in making life #betterforbaby and helped foster that special bond between an infant and their parents.  The three winning nurse Stories will be brought to life by Tongal filmmakers.

Nurses play an essential role for all new parents. Whether it’s nervous first-timers who appreciate a guiding hand on how to care for their new baby, or experienced veterans who could use some new tips, nurses form a trusting bond with new parents to help them care for their newborns and encourage healthy development right from the start.

As a tribute to all the things nurses do for babies and their parents, Pampers Swaddlers, in partnership with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), is launching the “Thank You Nurse Awards,” honoring Labor & Delivery nurses, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurses and Postpartum nurses.  We’re asking parents, friends, family, and co-workers to share a story of a nurse who helped make life #betterforbaby. Nurses are also welcome to nominate themselves or their colleagues.

Nurse nominations will be accepted through Noon Pacific Time on December 14, 2015.

What you need to know:

  • These must be actual true Stories featuring real nurses.  No actors.

  • Submissions must include a 500 character or less summary of the nurse you’d like to nominate and a photo.

  • People who are nominated must be either nurses or nurse midwives who work with infants in some capacity e.g. Labor and Delivery Nurse, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse, or Postpartum Nurse.

  • The three winning nurse Stories will be awarded $2,000 each and captured by Tongal filmmakers of the Sponsor’s choosing.

  • Three nominated nurses will be featured in short documentary videos showcasing their unique and inspirational stories. These three nurse finalists will each receive a one-year membership to the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), P&G care packages and more. Finalists will also receive a scholarship to attend the AWHONN Annual Convention. In honor of these nurses, three Pampers Swaddlers scholarships will be made available to help nurses from underrepresented groups complete their studies toward a Master of Science in Nursing degree. One grand prize nurse honoree will be featured in an upcoming Pampers advertisement placed with AWHONN. Please note that this portion of the prizing will be awarded by AWHONN and Pampers.

  • Final videos will be voted on by the public to determine a grand prize winner who will be featured in an upcoming Pampers advertisement in an AWHONN-owned property.

NOTE: If you submit on behalf of a Story subject please know the following:

  • Prizing for Stories is not paid until the subject has cooperated with the producer selected by the Sponsor and the video is completed.

  • When submitting on someone else’s behalf the subject must agree to participate for no compensation beyond the Story award.  If a Story subject’s participation is contingent on a percentage of potential winnings from the Video phase and/or an additional casting fee then they are not eligible.

Please read the remainder of the brief for all the important details.

The goal of this project is create a 60-120 second video featuring one of the 3 winning nurse Stories.  Stories need to be centered on the nurse and if applicable the family who nominated them. If the nurse’s Story allows for a scene where diapers are organically present, then the diapers must clearly be Pampers Swaddlers. The overall goal though is to tell a compelling and engaging story about a nurse who went above and beyond helping parents and their new baby.
