AG Properties wants to celebrate Strawberry Shortcake’s enduring friendship with her friends around the world with fun girl-power videos!

For the past 35 years, Strawberry Shortcake has been a successful small business owner. She was leaning in way before Sheryl Sandberg, providing a positive role model for little girls everywhere.

Strawberry Shortcake is an adventurous little girl who truly believes that anything is possible. She encourages her friends (including you!) to chase their dreams, seize opportunities, or pave their own paths where none exist. Whether it’s opening a café, becoming the next pop star, owning a salon or running a dog shelter Strawberry Shortcake and her fruit scented friends know that if they can dream it, they can do it!

So listen up ladies, share your Strawberry Shortcake-inspired dreams, goals, achievements, awards, and anything else that makes you proud to be you. Strawberry Shortcake wants to hear how today’s girls are breaking records, walls, and boundaries, tackling challenges, creating inspiring art, helping others—the possibilities are endless! Or should we say, anything is possible.

The goal of this project is to create a Video up to 60 second with a 15-second cut-down that celebrates the Strawberry Shortcake-inspired anything-is-possible adventures that girls are having today. Videos don’t have to be true stories, but those are equally as welcomed and encouraged. Videos should illustrate stories or moments that relate to Strawberry Shortcake’s core spirit of wholesome adventure and girl empowerment. The brand is open to your creative takes on how Strawberry Shortcake can be integrated into your Videos.

--Key Marketing Messages: Strawberry Shortcake has a unique ability to inspire girls to believe that anything is possible.

--Target Audience:

Primary: Parents with children aged 4-7.

Secondary: Adults who grew up loving Strawberry Shortcake.

--Executional Mandatories: Comply with Strawberry Shortcake guidelines. Do not animate Strawberry Shortcake.

--Tone: Adventurous but authentic to the world of Strawberry Shortcake. For example, there are no adults in her world.

--Exposure: All Strawberry Shortcake social media and online platforms.  Possibility for digital ads on parenting consumer sites.

This Project will be worth a total of $32,750 and consists of 3 Phases: a Story Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: STORY  – Tell us your STORY that embodies the Strawberry Shortcake spirit of adventure in 500 characters or fewer. Your Story can be about a real little girl who is adventurous and inspiring, or a compelling fictional Story of the like. The winning Story submissions will receive $500 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for any winning Videos based on their Story. That means if your winning Story is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $750, the 2nd place Video $300, and 3rd place $262.50– see Video Phase Payout details for more information.

Please note that the winning Story subjects may or may not be featured in the subsequent Pitch and Video Phases.

PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning STORIES from the previous Phase using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • Treatment (Optional): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video.

  • Storyboards (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across.

  • Headshots/Casting Boards (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The 2 most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $2,500 to help create the Video.  Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $5,250, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $15,000  First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Story winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – The 2 winners from the Pitch Phase will each create an up to 60-second Video based upon their winning Pitch.

All other creators are invited to enter a Wildcard (What Is a Wildcard?) submission that can be based on one of the winning Stories from the previous Phase or a totally original concept that is not based on any winning material from the Story Phase.  The Judges will score all Wildcard submissions and the 1 highest scoring Wildcard Video along with the 2 winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners will be scored to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the 2 Pitch winners, along with 1 Wildcard creator, will receive prizes.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $15,000, 2nd place $6,000, and 3rd place $5,250, less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Story winners, as applicable.

Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project.
