Snack Break: Tongal Creative Camp Challenge 4 Project
Video
07/05/18 - 07/31/18

We hope you're hungry, Creative Campers, because this time we're challenging you to team up with a friend from Camp to create a 1-2 minute Recipe Video!

**View, vote, and leave feedback on your favorite Video submissions at this link**

Ants on a Log. S'mores. Beanie Weenies. These are just some of our favorite foods from summer camp. What are yours? It's time to pair up with another Creative Camper from the Tongal Community and teach everyone how to make your fave recipe(s). Because food always tastes better when you have someone to share it with, right?

If you don't already know, this summer Tongal is hosting a virtual Creative Camp for all our community members and everyone is invited to join in on the fun! Each week between now and the end of July, we’re launching a new Creative Camp-themed project designed to fire up your imagination, push your creative boundaries, and build life-long friendships between you and your fellow campers.

Here are the projects we’ve got planned for you:

What You Need To Know

  • Each week during Creative Camp, on Thursday at 12 noon PT, we’ll launch a new challenge
  • Each challenge will remain open for submissions until the final day of Camp on July 31, at noon PT
  • Once received and vetted as eligible, each submission will be made viewable on Tongal where Tongal Community members can see and give feedback on your creation
  • You are highly encouraged to participate in ALL challenges (and if you do, you’ll be eligible for special prizes!), although you’re also perfectly welcome to only participate in the challenges that most interest you
  • Because paying import fees suck, soft prizes may be substituted with prizes of the same approximate retail value (“ARV”) for non-US prize-winners
  • By submitting, you are granting Tongal permission to share your work across our channels, however you will retain the rights to your submission. Please do not upload your submission anywhere else until winners have been announced and this Project has closed. Thank you!

Awards

  • ONE SNACK BREAK PROJECT WINNING TEAM will receive $100 to be split amongst the team members + Two special edition Tongal Creative Camp T-Shirts + you each get to promote anything you want (within reason) in an upcoming Community Newsletter (ARV $150)
  • FOUR SNACK BREAK PROJECT RUNNER-UP TEAMS will each receive a Tongal care package containing swag, camp goodies and a handwritten letter from “Mom” (ARV $50)
  • CREATIVE CAMP GRAND PRIZE: EVERYONE WHO SUBMITS an eligible submission to ALL SIX Creative Camp Projects will be considered for an additional prize of $500, which Tongal will award to the person who submitted the overall best body of work in light of the six projects' objectives and the judging criteria.

The goal of this project is to make a new friend and then make a tasty 1-2 minute Recipe Video. In keeping with the summer camp theme, we'd especially like for you to show us recipes for meals, snacks, drinks, or desserts that you’d either eat at camp or during the summer in general (Need some inspo? LMGTFY!). From stop-motion animation to attempting your best Martha Stewart impression, and from sincere to silly, all genres of recipe videos are acceptable. We even have a blog post that can teach you how to Create Delicious Recipe Videos, so read up!

IMPORTANT: You must work with at least one person who you’ve met at Creative Camp or someone from the Tongal Community with whom you’ve never collaborated before. Here are some tips to make it happen:

  • To find someone to pair up with, use the Project Forum or view Creative Camp submission galleries from previous weekly challenges, then connect using Direct Messaging on Tongal.
  • We suggest pairing up with someone who has a complementary skill (e.g.: You are an amazing chef, they're a visionary editor).
  • With the wonders of the Internet, you don't have to live in the same city in order to collaborate! Consider how you could (creatively!) divide and conquer this task.

Creators from all backgrounds and levels of experience are encouraged to participate. Shooting with anything from a smartphone to professional camera gear is A-OK by us.

--Target Audience: Just us Tongalers!

--Exposure: Tongal website and social channels

This Project consists of a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: VIDEO – Submit a 1-2 minute Video that meets the Project Objectives, and the name of your Recipe Video collaborator (this must correspond to the name on their Tongal Account).

After an initial review by Tongal, your submissions may be posted to a public-facing gallery where other Tongal creators will be able to comment on and cast their votes for their favorite Videos. Positive comments may help determine the winners.

The FIVE most compelling Videos will be selected as winners and receive the designated awards outlined above.

3. BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES – SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

5. Submissions must not portray Sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Sponsor.

10. The Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest at their discretion.

11. Winners must submit the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment.
