Create an enagaging Video to generate awareness about Shipster and drive downloads of the Shipster app.

As you can see, the project brief looks a little bit different on this project. This is one of the first Tongalx Alpha project. For more information about Tongalx Alpha, check out the blog post here.

All of the information that you need to pitch on and make an amazing 30 second Video (live action or animated--white board, 2D or 3D), to generate awareness about Shipster, is contained in the Background and Objectives sections. Be sure to check out the Assets tab for logos and photos too!

Business Name:

Shipster

Describe what your business or product does:

  • Shipster is a mobile app for on demand delivery services.
  • Requesting a shipment is as easy as taking a picture on your phone and putting in the addresses.
  • Delivery agent will be at your door in 20 minutes to pick up your shipment with no prior packaging

What do you consider to be your biggest competitive advantages?

Convenience (from the comfort of your couch, office ) and urgency (fast service) and reliable.

What do you want consumers to know about your business?

  • On demand delivery service when needed (in urgent situations).
  • Online live shipment tracking feature
  • There is no limit to the things you can ship. It can be anything from as big as a couch to as small as a key chain
  • They can send anything locally, domestically and internationally

What should be the focus of this video?

  • We initially want to focus on deliveries for Business to Business and Businees to Consumer platforms rather than the direct customer to grab a share of a bigger Business to Business market.
  • Focus should be on the easy usage of the application and the convenience of it for individuals and small creative businesses. It should also focus on how Shipster takes a big burden from your shoulders and becomes your business partner to help your business grow.

What do you want people to do after seeing this video?

Download our application and use our service next time they need to send something

Intended target for this video:

Small or mid-sized business owners in luxury retail or creative space (marketing, design, architecture) as well as individuals who might send shopping items somewhere straight from the store.

What slogan or tagline must be incoprorated in the video:

Fastest way to send anything anywhere.

What must the video include:

  • Videos must mention the company a minimum of 5 times (we would love to get your input on this as we are not familiar with the numbers)
  • Company logo and iPhone app store icons must appear on screen at the end of the video (Please see Assets Tab)

What should definitely NOT be included in the video:

  • Don’t show competitive businesses or products.
  • Please make it serious and professional but also delightful. If you can add an element of speed (shipping fast like fedex) it would be great.

Do you have any examples of videos or other commercials that would be help the filmmaker understand the tone and/or style you would like for your video?

Is there anything else you would like to tell the filmmaker?

Shipping is an old industry and iPhone apps can transform it the way they have transformed hailing an app. Let’s try to show an element of what the future will look like with this type of technology.

This project will be worth a total of $3,000 and consists of 2 Phases: a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video to raise awareness about saffron and Rumi Spice:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.
  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.
  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.
  • Treatment (Optional): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video.
  • Storyboards (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across.
  • Headshots/Casting Boards (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.
  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $1,500 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $3,000. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – The winner from the Pitch Phase will create a 30 second Video based upon the winning Pitch.

--Video Phase Payout: Video Phase Winner will earn the following prize: $1,500.

--Music: Tongal has partnered with premiere music providers: Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. You may use up to THREE total tracks per Video submission, and they can come from any of the providers listed above. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.
