Help us reimagine the Tongies with awesome, out-of-the-box Ideas that will take our annual awards to the next level.

For five years, we’ve celebrated the Tongal community’s amazing creative work at our annual Tongies, a black tie, red carpet affair here in Los Angeles. We get dressed up, we hand out trophies, and we party hard (sometimes a little too hard). And while the venue has changed a few times since year one, the overall format has essentially stayed the same. And, it’s been awesome. 

BUT, at Tongal, we’re all about innovation. And, as we start to think about Tongies 6 (can you believe it?), we want to shake things up and challenge the very idea of the Tongies. This May will mark the 10th (!!) year of the Tongal website being live, so we're open to Ideas that pay tribute to this milestone! As we continue to evolve, we’re looking to diverge from the way we’ve done this event in the past -- so any and all suggestions are on the table. Every aspect of the event is up for debate (black tie, theater setting, time of year, show format… EVERYTHING). 

So, if you’d like to help us turn the Tongies on its head (in the best way possible!), keep reading.

We want you to share your vision for what the Tongies could be in 2019, and are looking for your wildest, biggest Ideas that really celebrate the community as a whole. It’s up to you to completely rethink the format of the event. That could mean no black tie, no red carpet... you get the gist.

The only requirements are: 

• The Tongies must still award/recognize the great creative work done on Tongal. 
• The Tongies must celebrate YOU, our awesome community.

Requirements aside, we’re really looking for to push the envelope here. Any and all ideas are welcome. 

It’s always been about you, our community. That’s why we’re looking to you to tell us how you’d like to celebrate. So, think about the Tongies, and then STOP and think about it with fresh eyes. How do YOU think we should recognize this awesome community and the amazing work done throughout the year? 

This Project will be worth a total of $500 and consists of an Idea Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for how we could reimagine the Tongies in 140 characters or less. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $100 each.

1. Unless provided otherwise, all work must be your own original creation and free of any copyrighted material. You shall provide detailed information of your work regarding the source, the creator and background information as requested by Tongal.

2. BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES – SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

3. Submissions cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Sponsor.

4. Submissions must not portray Sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Sponsor.

5. By submitting to this project, you acknowledge that your work may become subject to public voting on the Tongal site. Public voting may be used to help the project sponsor determine the final rank order.

6. Limit 5 submissions per member.

7. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or older to participate.  

8. The Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest at their discretion.

9. Winners must submit the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment.
