We're looking for a filmmaker or crew based in or around New Orleans who can capture mixed event footage at an upcoming H&R Block event on July 5th. The details on this project are still coming together, but you can film with smartphone, and no post-production will be required.
On July 5, H&R Block is sponsoring and co-hosting an upcoming invite-only event for business owners as part of a larger festival in New Orleans. H&R Block's one-day event will bring together Black female business owners to discuss topics around entrepreneurship, which H&R Block will amplify in August in support of Black Business Month.
We are looking for a filmmaker or team with live event video experience who can capture full coverage of the event. Although the details are still coming together, we know that this may involve filming b-roll of group networking, scheduled speaker sessions, and a luncheon. You should also expect to capture a few on-camera interviews of attendees and speakers about the experience, likely against a step-and-repeat. The event is happening within the context of the festival, but you will not need to (and should not) film any of the bigger festival.
We anticipate that all filming will be social-first 9x16 and shot on an iPhone, but clean sound capture will be required, and the use of higher-end cameras is certainly not a disqualifier. After the event, you'll ship all your raw footage to our editor, so you can assume there will be no editing requirements for this ask.
If you're interested and have the right experience, more information will be provided. For now, we're just looking for links to your past work that best demonstrates your capabilities, particularly with live-event coverage. Ultimately, budget and compensation will be discussed with the selected filmmaker, however we expect it will land between $2,000 - $4,000.
