Help The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints review and clear existing footage within their archives for a consistent, hourly rate.
Throughout history, long after any production has concluded, there is always a behind-the-scenes team working to make sure that every legal box has been checked off the list to ensure that a final product can be shared with the world in good faith. Filmmaking and content creation are no exception here, and now, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is looking for individuals to build out a small team to help ensure all of their videos clear through the "legal usage terms" process.
This project is expected to be an ongoing one, and if selected, you will integrate into The Church's internal clearance process, reviewing all usage rights and release forms on a per video basis, while ensuring that everything is prepared for a final legal review. This will be an hourly freelance position at the rate of $20 per hour, run through Tongal, where the greenlit Tongaler(s) will be tapped for a certain amount of hours per week (based on The Church's need), and then will be assigned videos to review.
For this project, we're looking for people with attention to detail and who are willing to learn, so having clearance experience in the past is not a necessity. After all submissions are received, Tongal will be conducting a 15-30 minute interview with the selected candidates as part of the selection process.
In terms of process, once greenlit you can expect to go through a paid training process ($20 per hour) with The Church (estimated around 8 hours of training total) and work with their current clearance team to get a handle on their internal system, which has been specifically created and crafted for this process. From there, you will begin a trial run process, where you will work with the current team to tackle a few videos and ensure you have the method down. After that, you will work with Tongal and The Church on a weekly to coordinate how many videos will be assigned to you that week, and establishing the time estimate for that amount of work. To make expectations clear, this is a work-in-progress program that will likely undergo some process tweaks as we finish the first wave.
If you have any experience in post-production, or specifically with legal clearances on other productions, be sure to outline this in your treatment, though previous experience is not required. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.
