Create a 30-second video (with a 15-second cutdown) for the Australian market that will infuse viewers with the need to make the new Palmolive Oil Infusions body moisturizer a part of their daily routine.

A bead of moisture drips off a leaf. A shea nut plunges in slow-motion into a pool of creamy lotion. A woman’s hand caresses her throat or her shin or her shoulder, because her skin’s just so improbably soft.

We’ve all seen it before: the so-typical-it’s-cliché moisturizer ad. Those ads are fine, but we can all agree that no one needs to see another one anytime soon.

That’s where you come in: Palmolive’s new Oil Infusion line of moisturizer products needs a 30-second spot for the Australian and New Zealand market that shows how these affordably luxurious body moisturizers not only nurture but pamper, leaving your skin smooth and hydrated and your senses soothed with essential oils like citrus, rose and jasmine.

Continue on to the Project Objectives for more information…

The goal of this project is to produce a creative  30-second Video (with a 15-second cutdown and 5 stills) for the Australian market that will show the benefits of the new Palmolive Oil Infusions Body Moisturizer.

Palmolive Oil Infusions combine the luxury of premium moisturizers with the affordability of a supermarket brand. Infused with essential oils for pleasing fragrances and packaged in invitingly warm brown bottles, Palmolive Oil Infusions are designed to nurture your skin so it looks and feels its best.

The Sponsor is not interested in seeing the same-old, same-old moisturizer spot. We’re looking for a very premium but disruptive take – something that’s fun, unique, and sophisticated – just like Palmolive Oil Infusion users. Yes, this is a license to think outside of the box, as long as you keep those tonal considerations in mind.

Check out this Cillit Bang spot for inspiration: how would you tell the world about Palmolive New Infusions in a unique and inspiring way like this?

These Vaseline and Sanex ads also stretch the norms for a moisturizer spot:

Don’t forget, since this is for the Australian market specifically, be sure that your Video feels relevant to Australian consumers, and is a little more global in nature. We shouldn’t see American football players moisturizing with Infusions against a background of palm trees over Spanish terracotta roofs. That said, it is NOT required that this be filmed in Australia.

Additionally, the brand team has found that people respond quite positively to the bottle and concept, so the product should appear in your Video.  The product line is available is 3 varieties:

  • Citrus with Jojoba Oil – Stimulate & rejuvenate
  • Jasmine with Avocado Oil – Smooth & Moisturize
  • Rose with macadamia Oil – Uplift & Repair

In the ASSETS section, please also check out the "Reasons to Believe" document that includes a reminder about what Palmolive Oil Infusions is all about, which should be addressed in your Videos. The range is:

  • Non-greasy
  • Easily absorbed
  • Deep hydration
  • Lightly fragranced
  • Suitable for all skin types

*Filmmakers – this includes STORYBOARD APPROVAL, SCRIPT APPROVAL and HEADSHOT APPROVAL. Before you begin production, you will be required to send Storyboards and a Script to the brand team for creative, legal, and regulatory approval. You will also be required to present several casting options for each of the lead roles in your spot, along with your recommendations.

NOTE: The 30-second video, 15-second cutdown and five (5) stills are all due at the close of the Video Phase.  Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos. You will also need to create a 2D endcard for your Video and cutdown.

--Key Marketing Messages:

  • A daily routine now comes wrapped in goodness and pleasure that is accessible to all.
  • Invigorate your senses and relish your skin

--Executional Mandatories:

  • The product must be featured in the Video.
  • Video must speak to a global audience, not just American.

--Product: Product will be provided to the Pitch winner.

This Project will be worth a total of $30,000 and consists of three Phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for Palmolive Oil Infusions Body Moisturizer in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $250 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for a winning Video based on their Idea. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the Video, you will receive $962) – see Video Phase Payout details for more information.

PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.
  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.
  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.
  • Treatment (Optional): A detailed narrative description of what’s going to happen in the video.
  • Storyboards (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across.
  • Headshots/Casting Boards (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.
  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you’re capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $10,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $19,250 First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winner). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – The winner from the Pitch Phase will create a 30-second Video with a 15-second cutdown and 5 stills based upon their winning Pitch.

NOTE: 30-second video, 15-second cutdown, and 5 stills are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.

--Video Phase Payout: The Video Phase winner will receive $19,250 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Idea winner, as applicable).

--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE. They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.

Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form.
