If you’re a creator who wants to work with the LEGO Group, this project is for you. We’re looking for SIX (6) talented creators to join our first ever LEGO Wrecking Crew (LWC).
Who is eligible?
Whether you’ve worked with LEGO bricks for years, or if you’ve never animated with LEGO bricks before, we want to see your application.
We’re looking for creators (13+) from around the world, who have a strong, stylistic point of view and can work in the stop-motion realm. Whether you’ve only worked with paper, clay, food recipes or other mediums, we want to see how you would apply your unique point of view and knowledge to LEGO bricks.
Details:
If selected to be part of the LEGO Wrecking Crew (LWC), you’ll receive $10,000 to be part of an on-call studio to help the LEGO Group create seasonal content. You will have access to two types of projects exclusively available to LWC creators: Pre-Determined Projects and Wildcard Projects.
Your application is due Wednesday April 19 at noon PT. If you have any issues with your submission please email info@tongal.com BEFORE 10:00 am PT Wednesday April 19.
Pre-Determined Projects:
There are SEVEN (7) pre-determined projects based on the following events:
If chosen to be part of the LWC, you are expected to pitch on at least THREE (3) of the above pre-determined projects. If your pitch is selected, you will receive an additional $5,500 per pre-determined project to help cover production costs and will be required to create a 15 to 30-second stop-motion video.
Wildcard Projects:
In addition to the SEVEN (7) pre-determined projects listed above there will be THREE (3) wildcard projects. The subject of these projects are to be determined, but could be based on a recent cultural event or more obscure holiday like National Donut Day (just an example). As part of the LWC you will be required to submit videos for at least TWO (2) of these wildcard projects. Like with the predetermined projects, the winners of the wildcard projects will receive $5,500 per winning submission. Wildcard videos must also be between 15 to 30-seconds long.
The pre-determined projects and the wildcard projects will be run as separate projects available only to the LEGO Wrecking Crew.
Video Criteria:
Keep in mind your videos should be:
Shareable – Optimized for social platforms (YouTube, Facebook & Instagram) & engaging for each specific audience.
Reactive & Relevant – Connect the LEGO brand with culturally relevant moments on a local and global scale.
Obviously LEGO but unexpected.
Your submissions SHOULD NOT include any licensed themes (i.e. Star Wars, Marvel, Minecraft, DC).
