Create a fun and quirky 60-second Video (with a 30-second cutdown) that promotes the dandruff-controlling effectiveness of NIZORAL® A-D shampoo.
If you’ve ever suffered from dandruff, you know the drill: itchy, irritated scalp, flaking skin and a distinct hesitation to wear black. It can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Luckily, NIZORAL® A-D is clinically proven to get rid of dandruff – without a prescription!
NIZORAL® A-D shampoo is the gentle yet powerful solution that will leave your hair looking and smelling better than ever with a minimum of just two uses per week. NIZORAL® A-D is not only clinically proven to control flaking and itching; its thick, rich, fresh-smelling lather rinses clean so your hair looks its best from the first time you use it.
Help spread the word about NIZORAL® A-D by creating a Video that generates curiosity from those who suffer from dandruff, and that motivates them to check out all the amazing reviews it already has and give it a try.
Create a 60-second Video with a 30-second cut-down that shows people who suffer from dandruff that NIZORAL® A-D is clinically proven to get rid of dandruff with a thick, rich, fresh-smelling lather.
NOTE: This project has an extended Video phase timeline to accommodate pre-production approvals.
NOTE: The Pitch winner will be required to submit four (4) versions of both the :60 and :30 Videos to include four (4) distinct provided end-tags.
NOTE: This is a SAG project so you may use NO MORE THAN four (4) people on screen in your Video, including extras, background talent, and voiceover talent, if applicable.
NOTE: All four (4) versions of the 60-second Video and the 30-second cut-down are both due at the close of the Video Phase, along with five (5) still images and one (1) animated GIF. Please upload the Videos and other materials as separate submissions.
--Key Marketing Messages:
Using NIZORAL® A-D just twice a week in between your regular shampoos can provide long-lasting relief from dandruff, including flaking, itching, and dryness. Ketoconazole keeps nasty dandruff in check and NIZORAL® A-D kills the fungus that causes dandruff, so your hair can look its best.
--Consumer Insight:
Moderate to severe dandruff sufferers are deprived from hair freedom. The most popular branded product has extremely high market share, but its active ingredient only works on 60% of sufferers.
NIZORAL® A-D is highly rated and reviewed by consumers organically.
--Target Audience: Families with members who suffer from moderate to severe dandruff
--Executional Mandatories:
--Tone: Educational, informative, energetic, positive, fun, quirky
--Exposure: Intended for use in digital and social media channels, with potential to be broadcast on TV.
--Product: Product will be provided to Pitch winner.
--Additional Brand Information:
NIZORAL® A-D works better than other products in the market because it combines the super-effective ingredient “Ketoconazole”, that binds to the natural protein of hair and keeps nasty dandruff in check while being gentle on your hair. It can be used on color-treated, chemically processed, and gray hair.
It is also an effective solution for African American hair because it is long-lasting and continues to work between washes, it is gentle and can be used with color-treated and chemically relaxed hair, and it is more potent than other over-the-counter dandruff shampoos.
This Project will be worth a total of $23,000 and consists of three (3) Phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for a 60-second Video that spreads the word about NIZORAL® A-D and motivates dandruff sufferers to try it in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The two (2) winning Idea creators will receive $250 each and the Idea that goes on to the Video phase will receive a a 5% one-time residual payment. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the Video, you will receive $700) – see Video Phase Payout details for more information.
PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:
The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $8,500 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $15,000 Video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 3: VIDEO – The Pitch winner from the Pitch Phase will create a 60-second Video based upon their winning Pitch.
NOTE: All four (4) versions each of the 60-second Video and the 30-second cut-down are both due at the close of the Video Phase, along with five (5) still images and one (1) animated GIF. Please upload the Videos and other materials as separate submissions.
--Video Phase Payout: The winner of the Video Phase will earn $14,000 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Idea winner, as applicable).
