Develop series concepts for National Geographic’s digital and social channels that sparks people’s curiosity and generates ongoing conversations in the zeitgeist.
***This project is looking for Series Ideas specifically about the Campaign Idea, "Explore Every Day". We are running a separate project for ideas about National Geographic’s professional Explorers. You can check that project out here.***
National Geographic wants people everywhere to realize that exploration is more accessible than we think. We are all inherently curious - think about how a child looks at the world. And our curiosity leads us to explore. It leads us to growth and self-discovery - not only as human beings, but as collective inhabitants of the planet. National Geographic wants us to tap into our sense of exploration every day.
Exploring every day means constantly feeding that curiosity: constantly discovering people and places and changing your POV. It’s about seeking out the wonder in everyday life. And knowing that we can all do it, wherever we happen to be…today.
National Geographic is turning to the Tongal community to develop content that reinforces this idea. We’re looking for ideas that help people understand that exploration isn’t the sole province of the professionals you read about in text books or in magazines with yellow borders. Exploring belongs to all of us - every day we can learn a little more about the world around us. And everytime we do, we’ll broaden our horizons a little more and grow as people.
So what are some uniquely clever and fresh ideas that can tell that story? We want concepts that take us a level deeper. Content that fosters a more personal connection among National Geographic, its Explorers and its followers.
How can we encourage the brand’s followers to think of exploring as not just a means to an end but as a daily mindset? What series of videos would help feed their curiosity and inspire them to engage with other like-minded explorers?
Think about these questions then give us a memorable Series Idea in 250 characters or less. Tell us which platform your Idea is intended for by choosing from the dropdown menu on the submission page. Check the objectives section for more details.
What is a Social Media Series Idea?
Series Ideas are concepts for ongoing content that extends a brand’s Campaign Idea to various platforms. They could be everything from creating a funny web series about competitive sisters to producing an adorable series about what it’s like to get a puppy. Your Series Ideas should be intended for one of the following social platforms:
