Got a great Concept for a digital series based around music? Share it with our Mystery Sponsor and you could win big! Concepts should center on integrating music and/or musicians in a fresh and meaningful way. 

Music and original content feed our appetites with some of the greatest forms of entertainment. That’s why combining the two is a no brainer - if you haven’t seen American Idol or The Voice, we highly suggest tuning in for an episode.

Now, our Mystery Sponsor is turning to the Tongal community for the next great original music series! Your Concepts should feel original and unique; we encourage you to really think outside the box for this one. When submitting your Concepts, think about various ways to cross-pollinate artists with other elements of either pop-culture or the general population, such as athletes, celebrities, chefs, comedians, teachers, kids, parents, etc. We encourage integrating a competition or a gamification component, but by no means is it mandatory. Keep in mind when pitching your Concepts, that music and/or musicians should ENABLE this show, not be the crux of the show, i.e. the sponsor is NOT looking for an interview/ concert series or a format directly artist focused.

Tell us your clever Concept for a digital series format that focuses on or works around music. Concepts should incorporate music and/or artists in a significant way but they should not be the sole proponents of the show. Think of ways that music and musicians, both past and present, could play a role in a larger story, theme, or format, and be creative!

When submitting your Concepts, remember that they need to have legs – your Concepts should be for 5-15 minute episodes at 6-10 episodes per season. While we’re opening this up to get your creative juices flowing, there are a few limitations to keep in mind when submitting. We are looking for fresh, original, creative Concepts.

Three (3) Concepts will win prizes. 

We are NOT looking for:

• Interview series
• Concert series
• Behind the Music rip-off
• Formats focused directly on artists, albums, or tours

Potential formats COULD be…

• Game show – from Jeopardy to Hollywood Squares to Lip Sync Battle
• Narrative – can you crank it to 11?
• Competitive – do you have the format for the next American Idol?
• Interactive/Gamified – Pop Up Video, VR, 360º cameras and beyond

There are a ton of incentives beyond the Concept prizing. If your winning Concept gets picked up, you will receive:

• A Created By credit
• A $10K kicker
• Consultant position for the development of the show.

The cherry on top? If you happen to have a knack for writing, there may be an opportunity to come on board as a series writer! 

This project will be worth a total of $1,750 and consist of one (1) Concept phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: CONCEPT- Submit your Concept for an original music show format using:

• Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less that conveys your Concept.
• Logline (REQUIRED): A sentence that provides a summary of the show. 
• Video (Optional): If you would like to go the extra mile and put together a video furthering the explanation of your Concept and how you envision it as a series, by all means, feel free!
• Treatment (Optional): A detailed description of what’s going to happen in your Concept and series, in the pilot episode, the first season, or the full series! 

Three (3) Concepts will win prizes: first place $1,000; second place $500; and third place $250. If your winning Concept goes on to become the basis for a show, you will receive additional compensation and 'soft prizing'. Please see the Objectives and the Official Rules for more information.

1. The Concept MUST not exceed 500 characters in length.

2. Unless provided otherwise, all work must be your own original creation and free of any copyrighted material. You shall provide detailed information of your work regarding the source, the creator and background information as requested by Tongal.

3. In the event you utilize any third party materials, such as music provided by a third-party music provider not provided by Tongal, you must obtain full written license and consent from the owner of such third party materials and provide such license and consent forms to Tongal.

4. BY SUBMITTING A VIDEO ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES – SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

5. Submissions cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Sponsor.

6. Submissions must not portray Sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Sponsor.

7. By submitting to this project, you acknowledge that your work may become subject to public voting on the Tongal site. Public voting may be used to help the project sponsor determine the final rank order.

8. Videos must be in the English language or subtitled.

9. Limit 5 submissions per member, per Phase.

10. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or older to enter.

11. In the event that fewer than 25 Concepts are received, the Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest for up to fourteen (14) days at their discretion.

12. The Sponsor will be entitled to reasonable revisions on the winning Concepts without providing additional compensation.

13. In addition to the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment to claim your prize.
